Ok, the following cheat is not recommendable for hardcore players or realists. We would also like to emphasise that we don't approve of cheating in Championship Manager or misleading the game in any other way. But, we simply couldn't hold this from you as it could be quite funny to do, just for once!
It is an exploit because of the AI not knowing what to do with it and letting through a completely impossible transfer, that would normally be stopped by the board of directors.
Here's the deal:
- Start a new game with CM 03/04 (we tested on 4.1.5) and add 2 managers to the game.
- Next, let the 2nd manager make an offer on some crappy player of the other team and bid the utmost maximum. Which means not just the initial fee, but also monthly installments, fee per app, etc. Place the bid once you are done. NOTE: Once above 2.13.. BILLION pounds the fee goes back to the initial transfer fee plus the monthly installment. I think this can be ingnored, just go on. If you want to be on the safe side, simply don't go further then 2.13 billion pounds.
- After you placed the bid, continue the game until you get the offer with the other manager and accept the offer.
- Now comes the tricky part. Once accepted by the other manager, go to the contract offer screen. Set everything in the contract that high, so it will become impossible for the player to refuse (or everything will have been for nothing). Raise his status to key player and give him super bonuses, additional fees or whatever comes to mind. Note: DO NOT PRESS OFFER CONTRACT!
- Once you have set everything you want to give this player, stay in that screen and RETIRE. Yes, you read it right. Simply retire. BUT DON'T OFFER THE PLAYER THE CONTRACT!
- After the other manager retires, you (the manager who's selling) will receive a message of the deal not being completed because of the departure of the old manager. IGNORE IT.
- Click on for a couple of days and suprise, surpise.. You will receive the initial transfer fee. After a month you will receive the first installment and when you are lucky and the player starts playing for the first squad, make goals, etc, you will get money for that as well.
Some notes:
1. you can do this to put top clubs in receivership
2. get ****loads of money (sell to a smaller club, it will increase the chance of your crap player getting apps in the first team and perhaps score which gives you even more money £££ :P), as it doesn't matter how little money they have. It simply works.
3. don't ruin your regular game with this, do it for fun as it is. Had Beckham, van Nistelrooy, Ferdinand, Henry and Campbell joining my little club as I could offer them huge amounts of money. Was fun, for a while.
4. Don't exchange players with this, as I heard it won't work then.
5. Again, don't actually offer the player the contract, just retire.
