Importing: Coeff,Colour,Normal images Thread

I am using the Frosty Editor and Frosty Mod Manager suite and have no difficulty in importing Kits/Boots etc when they have coeff, colour, & normal image textures.

However, I am really struggling to import some Puma boots that I have recently found. These boots don’t have the usual imports of coeff, colour, and normal images but have three texture images of; png, rx3, and rx3textures? The png, (which I assume is colour) imports with no problem but the rx3 and rx3texture images I simply can’t import. Would I be correct in assuming that the rx3texture is the coeff and the rx3 is the normal.?

If anyone can help a pensioner on how to import rx3 images I would be extremely grateful. Thank you

Rx3 files are used by fifa 16 or older,
Or by fifa 18-22 switch

Rx3 files without "texture" in the filename is usually a model file :
Similar to a fbx file

Rx3 files with "texture" are files wich contains 1 or more textures:
So the 3 coeff, colour, and normal images are in the one texture rx3 file

I can suggest my tool :
Fifa converter
-> for extracting png from rx3 :
TEXTURES > Export

Or other tools u ll find on the fifa 14-16 forums

Hello Tokke,

Thanks again for the info you gave me and to inform you that I used your Fifa Converter and it worked perfectly. If I could get your assistance again, once converted, which is best to use; dds or png?

Finally, I’m struggling with the ‘mesh’ in Frosty Editor to see the finished article. All my mouse will do is either go up or down to show the ‘mesh. Nothing works on the keyboard or my controller. Is there a way of showing the finished ‘mesh’ article similar to Kit Preview? Thank you again.

dds are ussually compressed textures (DXT1/BC1 , DXT5/BC3, ...),
but they are the original format used at the rx3 files
--> if u import the dds into Frosty Editor: u may need to make sure the correct compression is used

png are decompressed textures

u can use the scroller of the mouse to zoom ?
or not sure what your problem is (maybe your mouse broken? ) :D
