I LOVED PES...until pes6

As a youngster i was addicted to the FIFA games but only because I thought they were the only thing around. But then I discovered PES4 (WE8 here in the US) and I immediately fell in love. I thought that PES5 was the perfect football game in terms of gameplay except for some issues with fouls. Then came along PES6 and completely killed my love for the series. I hate FIFA 07 even more but PES6 isnt too much better. Its because of these simple but frequently recurring issues that kill the gameplay:

1. For some reason every time a player recieves the ball, they stop for a split second with the ball betweeen their feet and then respond to your command. After playing PES5 since Feb 06, I found this extremely frustrating. But because of the amazing patches and customization features (particualrly bootserver and new scoreboards) I continued to play.
2. The 2nd reason is probably the most frusrating of all: the ball seems like it weighs a ton. Passes in this game are waaaaaayyyy toooo sloooooooww. Time after time I lose the ball because a pass was to slow to reach a player before a defender could intercept the ball. I know it helps to pass while running and at the the right point in the stride but this is just unnecessary.
3. The AI is extremely biased toward the computer. The ball just always seems to break for the opponent and my tackles NEVER seem to work. However i guess its just me because when I play against another human, my tackles work fine.
4. Way too poorous defense. Even playing w/Liverpool and concentrating like crazy, I always concede stupid goals.
Now dont get the wrong idea. I could play pes5 on six stars and destroy barcelona with birmingham city so I am a somewhat good pes player, however, pes6 just does not let me play the quick passing game that I could in the fifth edition. WHat makes me the most upset is the fact that now i have no good football game to play other than pes5. I am intensely awaiting pes7 on ps3. Oh the possibilities....

Me too was a great fan of FIFA in the early days, because I too thought it was only the one option. When I grabbed PES4,I immediately fell in love with the game.Apart from the gameplay,I liked the details of the kits which looked amazingly real-like.The only thing that I didn't like was the game menus. They were in one word "pathetic",but that too can be forgiven because they were new in the industry and they had too get a grab in the football market only by providing superior gameplay.
With PES5,the menus became a little better but the offside and fouls killed the gameplay.I didn't like the wide back kits because it wasn't that real-like as in PES4.
With PES6,it killed me off.The balls are not round, the free kick is crappy, there seems no effort to make better kits, pathetic scoreboard, and the menus are half done and even the menu music were not changed. If you look closely at the FIFA kits, they make it wrong, wrong collar, wrong transparencies, wrong kit-back number....
PES could have make the unlicenced kits like that in FIFA,and the licensed ones as is provided in PES with the last details. That too would have give a sense of originality to the kits even though those are not licensed.Add to that the stadium textures are horrible, why they make it dried dull green pitches and why they make those horrible irregular stripes is unanswered. The crowd seems crappy, there's no ambience. The adboards are dull. They could have use fictitious names in adboards and make it colorful.I think KONAMI doesn't know what "bright" means. The England away shirt shakes me,is that red???
If you look at the FIFA stadiums you willl see how they show the distant objects, through a mist of air and smoke.
In PES distant objects too look at the same way as near objects do.There's little or no photographers in the stadium and those low resolution logos are mapped onto the flags, throw apart how pathetic they look, because I bet KONAMI doesn't care about customer satisfaction.
Just look how good scoreboards can be made as seen in patched and look what is provided in the game.I heard in WE2007 even the winter transfers are not made.
These KONAMI guys are becoming lazy. They think they have good gameplay and that alone would suffice, but as a 3rd generation game with no good AA and AF features enabled, this game will lose its ground.
I was once a FIFA fan and later joined the PES side, and now with all these craps I had washed off my hands from PC football gaming.
