I have a question for Muslims

I meant is there a specific name for that law. I know that the Qua'ran forbids it, but I'm not very familiar with the innerworkings of Sharī'ah.

Why do you care? Shariah.
No reason to get offended.

Because I also reject drugs and alcohol, (I am straight edge) and people were saying that Muslims are also straight edge because of their beliefs, but I was saying that they have their own seperate belief against drugs and alcohol that has nothing to do with the straight edge movement that started in the DC hardcore scene in the 1980s. I was just wondering if there was a name for it.

The Arabic term "khamr" refers to anything that is intoxicating but there's no specific name for it. But you can refer it to as "haram," which is Arabic for unlawful or forbidden. That term covers more than just drinking and drugs though.

Sounds like you and the Doc will get along.

EDIT: Yes, I meant haram.

no. Halal is the opposite of what you said. Halal is something that is allowed, Haram is something that is forbidden.

And I dont understand your question, specific name for the usage of alchohol and drugs? I dont think there is another name.. I mean is there one in English? :crazyboy:

I know 4 types of things;

1- completely forbidden things by islam, we call them "haram" (alcohol and drugs are included in this)
2- things that were not completely forbidden but doing them are not advised (which we call "mekruh")
3- things that are advised to do, but doing them are not so crucial
4- things that must be done, they are consisting of 5 things which I cannot write hence I don't know their english meanings..

I wish for peace between religions, sincerely... religion is a matter of individual, not people, not politics, not nations..

Faith, prayer, giving alms, fasting and pilgrimage.

I think the main point behind the rule against intoxicating agents is that you shouldn't be getting intoxicated because unmoral things happen then. As long as your perfume doesn't get you drunk, I think you're fine.

theedor.... you could have just used the arabic words like hajj.
