How to shoot in FIFA 2005??

I read a review somewhere and they said that EA are now trying to keep the scores down in FIFA 05 to make it more realistic. That's all cool and stuff, but has anyone noticed that when you direct the pad towards the goal and shoot... the ball goes the other bloody way, almost EVERY TIME! Occassionally you'll get a freekick out of the box, or just a fluke goal. But over 3/4's of the time you can only score within the box from just a tap in or a weak goal. I'm pretty ticked off about the new shooting system in this game. I think in FIFA 04, it's almost the opposite. You could shoot from outside the box, but if you were in the box the keeper would save most from your legs, because your players animations were pretty limited and you couldn't control him enough to get away the sweet tap in for a goal and stuff, unlike FIFA 05 which does allow that now. But the shooting is hard as hell. Is there a trick to the new shooting method or is that just how it is?

P.S. Corners in FIFA 05 suck bad...

I score about every fifth goal or so from out side of the box, with players that are rated around 75-78, so I would guess it would be easier with world class players.
Generally, I only power up about half way and that keeps the shot on target more. Do a special move and then shoot it as soon as that move is over helps occasionally. Another way is to come at the goal at an angle. For example cut across the field with your right midfielder towards the far post. When you are outside of the box and about even with the penalty spot power up to shoot aiming across the grain back to the near post (this generally works better if your player is a left footer). Hope this helps.

Shooting is all about movement direction, speed and momentum... if you are moving towards the right and you aim for the left in the same motion, chances are that the kick will go somewhere in the middle so you're often better off trying to slip it by the goalkeeper on the near side...

I don't know what kind of people have a problem with this system.. i find it extremely intuitive... and i guess anyone who plays football will find it so... no-one can shoot in different directions perfectly while running without it affecting the direction of the shot... if i'm short of space i normally try to shoot along the flow of the ball and player movement...if i have some space i normally make a single touch before the shot to set it right... e.g:

if i'm attacking with teh left striker and i've made it in the box but i'm wide of the goal... if i have a second or so, i sidestep the ball from the outside of the right foot, so that i'm now perpendicular to the goal, facing the right side and then shoot in the far corner... goes in often...

this is on pro btw

yes, if you scored a goal on your first shot then there is something wrong with the game.
