How to make FIFA GAMES more enjoyable

I believe that if EA Sports includes more Team and Player stats in their FIFA games, it would be a lot more fun. Why? Because we would have a challenge to beat new team and player records from clubs being control by the CPU.

The basic stats included in FIFA games are crap...EA should include more stats...similar to what MANAGEMENT GAMES have...those games have infinite stats in all the areas.:D

i always said Ea should buy the OPTA Stats license...then we shall see a much more realistic game...i hope they make domestic suspensions stay only in the respective local leagues and not carry on into europe etc...doesnt make sense you get suspended ina league game and then cant play in your next european game...i would like to see 'delayed' suspensions where as in england a player who get sent off on lets say Week 1 can continue playing till Week 3 where it will then kick in...also we need better season goal scoring charts.!!!!

Ways to make the game better

Its quite simple, really:

1) Totally customisable controls. Being able to route any playable move to ANY button, key or combination of keys. For example: using the move controls to add curve and/or height to the ball after the shot. It was used before and worked great. I don't like the idea of having to push several buttons all at once.

2) Totally customisable camera position. Fifa 2002 is really bad in this respect, because there is NO camera position that lets you have a good overview of the entire area AND gives you information on the height of the ball. Earlier FIFA installments had tower cams that showed the game from great height and showed a wide area. FIFA 2002 put the tower camera on a lower position so its much harder to judge depth perception. ALL camera positions are flawed. Simply let the player create their favorite view of the pitch themselves.

3) Remove those extremely annoying "impossible" goals from the game routine. I don't know how many games I've played where the computer manages to beat my 'keeper with a 45yard extremely curved shot. Its annoying because my goallie doesn't react in time and I can't guide him because the camera doesn't move fast enough. Or the high forward ball where his striker and my defender both go up and the computer PUSHES my player yet the ref does nothing. The computer then ofcourse has a free route to my goal to score. My defender just can't seem to win these duels due to my opponent cheating, and somehow my players CAN'T do the same.

4) Improve AI. It annoys me every time when my players just can't seem to manmark a player close enough. I've had plenty of times where an opponent started a run and NOONE on my team reacted to mark him. Yet when MY players start a run, the opposition reacts by marking him closely. Either create a "tactics" button routine or just make sure my players are intelligent enough to mark closely.

In my opinion, i think that EA should combine Fifa Managment and the Fifa game. It would make the game much more interesing. They should also make real shoes such as adidas and nike shoes (making the game more realistic). The stadiums need to be all different too, they all apear to be the same. And you never see your team play in the away kit. When your team is playing at home, they need to play in the same stadium. In the managment section for Fifa 2002, you need to be able to make your own formations, so that you can play with 2 in the back or 4 guys up front. We need to be in total control. But they should really really join Managment and Fifa. Or bring Managment to the us

just a quick question. How do you do moves, suchs as a roll over, not a fake shot or pass, but a roll over. Also, how do you make your shot high or low and for some reason the computer can curve their shots, and how do you do that.

This is a complaint. It really doesnt matter how skilled your player is cause every time i play with the worst possible team with practicaly no takleing and they seam to outrun and tackle the opposing team. Why EA, why

I did not enjoy fifa 2002 initially but I do now. I was not able to defend well back then but I have found a way to defend better now. If you want to beat the CPU player with a header while defending, just position your defender slightly away from the CPU player. Most of the time you should be able to win the header and even if you don't, you would not be fell by them. Hold the sprint button if you are defending. This will enable your defender to cover lost ground on the attacker. Lastly, play with a more defensive strategy. I have been able to improve my goal difference with my method. You can stop the CPU from taking those stupid half way line shots by closing their players down in midfield.

Does Fifa Manager allow you to play as well, cause if it does not, EA should combine the FIFA game with FIFA Manager. Taht would be the shiznit

Stats

What is the use of stats anyway when the computer AI ignores them TOTALLY? I once used a team where the players had the highest attribute everywhere against a team with only 1's. The computer played EXACTLY the same against my team. It only matters if MY players have such poor numbers.

What is the use of that? Suppose you play ManU vs Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Wolfs would play EXACTLY like Real Madrid would, REGARDLESS of players stats. Why would it then matter how good your players would be? Its no good. You guys need more roleplaying, or just use two different modes.
"Arcade" vs "Simulated" or something.

I hope EA do better with the next FIFA, because I'm very dissapointed with this one. The highest computer level beats me not because of better play, but because they CHEAT.

I dont know about you, but the previous Fifa games have been to easy, me winning 6-0 on world class. I am dissaponted with other things as well in the game, but i am just glad that the game play is much harder in Fifa 2002.
