How to import faces to your FIFA 06

what if you took the generic head , modified it with OEdit, and imported the new face and altered head model but kept the hair assignment the same? Would this work?

Hmm if you have a O model and it's for bald and you import long hair for example brown color to it'll probably be a brown spot all over the head.

No, thats not what I'm saying.....

Lets say you have created a player and assigned him a GENERIC facetype and hairtype. You then take that same GENERIC head model, modify it, change the .o to the players ID# but leave the hair the same , originally assigned hair that already worked with that model. That way you have a new face with GENERIC hair that already worked with that head model. I guess you'd have to be sure not to modify too much the top of the head where the head fits it. That doesn't solve the problem with bald head models though.

For a bald guy with hair you'd probably be better off just taking the texture and working with a new head model that has a hair or a generic model as I've stated above (if that in fact can work).

What we need to add to this sticky is how to import new faces for created players and how to add a face to a player that has a generic face.

1) First off, how do you create a new zdata using BigGUI?
2) Then you import the head .o, the hair texture, the face texture, and possibly the hair.o, if its a player with generic hair that you're just modifying??

3) Do you use fatGUI and fatBH?

What are the steps?

thanks,
Dave

The answers are not here for two of the three questions so perhaps you should actually read the post. You even saiud yourself on a previous post that you DIDN'T know how to add new faces to replace generic ones.

Secondly, it doesn't say anywhere in this thread EXACTLY how to use BigGUI to create a new Zdata..I mean open up BigGUI, where the hell do you start?

For myself, I use Ockhams CEP and there are several zdatas already added to accomodate the extra kits and whatnot of the extra teams. However, I tried to add a new face in for a player that is already in the game BUT has a generic face. I loaded the two .o files (modified generic head/hair) and the t21, t22 files into that last Zdata (36) and ran fatGUI and FatBH and nothing......!!

Others around these and other related forums suggest putting the files into new, empty Zdatas, but it does not say how to use BiGGUI to do this, it just says thats what you have to do, which was one of my questions.

So obviously it has not been explained well enough as of yet......which is why there are so many questions pertainingb to these same topics over and over.

Heres the information I was looking for...courtesy of the now-banned Billy1969

In regards to making new Zdatas and adding faces:

It's quite easy, open Big Gui, in the File menu select New, browse to your Fifa/data folder and make a new zdata_xx.big file (where xx is the number following the last of your regular zdatas), this will make a new empty zdata file.

Import in this file the .O files and the t21 and t22 files for your new faces until you reach 500 files, then make the next empty one.

The tricky part and what most people forget if you rebuild the fat and bh files now with fatbhbuilder is that it will rebuild your big files, save the one you just created, since it has no .bh file to begin with smile.gif

So what do you do? You copy an existing .bh file and rename it to match the number of your created zdata_xx.big, then rebuild the files with fatbhbuilder, and THEN and only then it is going to work.

One thing you must keep in mind, is that for Fifa06, the maximum size of your fifa.fat file can be 324kb, at 325 and above it will crash. If you know that the more files you have in your zdatas the bigger this file grows (with a standard installation of CEP for example you're almost at 300kb), so you can't add files indifinitely.

And in regard to adding Zdatas vs. putting faces in the root directory:

Putting the faces in the root directory of Fifa06 works also, but I noticed that the more files you put in there, the slower Fifa06 behaves, I once put the whole contents of a zdata file in there while I was testing stuff and then forgot to remove them again. For days I was looking what was causing the slowdowns and jerkyness of the game and then I remembered the files in the root directory.

So I removed them again and oh miracle the gameplay was smooth as butter again. I have no proven explanation for this but I think the memory handling of Fifa works like this :

First it loads everything in the root directory, and it stays in memory (since it's not in a zdata file, Fifa has to load it by default because it can't load it once the game started)

Once the game starts (a match), it loads all the graphics for both teams and the stadium, flags, adboards, ect ect in the database and zdatas as needed, when the match ends it releases the memory again (save for the preloaded stuff in the root directory)

Now, if you have a powerful computer you can put a lot of files in the root directory (I had 500+ in during my experiment) and fifa will work but it will slow down, and I believe eventualy crash when too much is in the root directory. (but I didn't test)

I put files in the root as a last resort (when my fifa.fat file reaches 324k for example)

Go to it FIFA lovers!!

Then you didnt do it right, it couldn't have ****ed up your game. All you'd have to do would be to remove the new Zdatas and then it would be back to normal.

When you say the root directory, do you mean FIFA06 or FIFA06/data?

Allright. When I want to give a player a face, who havn't a face ingame. The imported face doesn't appear. I have done all the steps but when I go to the game the faces dont appear. They have still the generic EA faces.
The only thing I have installed is the CEP of Ockham :nape:

Yes i have also done that. Very strange...

Import them with Biggui/Big Raptor. It is safe.
I have done that already. I created a new zdata_36.big file, imported my files, then i compressed them. Created a new zdata_36.bh file, I mean I copied an existed .bh file and changed the number. Then I run fatbhbuilder and nothing happens when I want to see it ingame :nape:

I've found a very easy way to import faces on FIFA 06 and FIFA WC 06.

Just create a zip file with downloaded faces files and install it with great tools from www.fifamania.it called FIFAMANIA INSTALLATOR or FIFAMANIA WC INSTALLATOR.

I let you search these tools on this fabulous web site.
