How To Correct 16:10 Aspect Ratio and Remove Black Bars?

I read several instructions on how to do it; I can manage to have the game displayed full screen without the black bars, but still the image is distorted on the vertical side. The problem is in obtaining the correct aspect ratio without the blacck bars. Any hint?

Thanks but already tried. It makes the screen without black bars but it is distorted; stretched.
Also using the program should be not necessary because I can make custom resolutions using nvidia cp; it works fine with other games but not fifa. It doesn't care about nvidia configuration! While the program works but stretches everything. I tried ps3 fifa 15 demo on ps3 and it automatically scale my monitor visual game full screen no black bars, not stretched. I wonder if for Ea was that difficult to do the same for pc.....do they hate pc gamers?

Your comment tells me you have no idea what you're doing. That tutorial explains how to customize your resolution so that it doesn't stretch. If it stretches, it's because you haven't followed the instructions and/or you're setting the game or your monitor on the wrong resolutions. And if you can't figure it out, that's your issue, not EA's.

Anyway, nobody can help you fix your resolution issue because it all depends on your hardware. I have two laptops and a monitor, and all three have different aspect ratios. To get full screen on them, I have to set the resolution to three different settings.

Anyway, nobody can help you fix your resolution issue because it all depends on your hardware. I have two laptops and a monitor, and all three have different aspect ratios. To get full screen on them, I have to set the resolution to three different settings.

1. I have the exact same monitor as that one in the instructions 1680x1050, so I tried that resolution that suggests there: 1866x1050. That one and many others.
2. with that cru software I can actually remove the black bars and play fullscreen but it is stretched.
3. While using only my nvidia cp to create a custom resolution (as it suggests there for nvidia users) it doesn't work; leaving the black bars where they are and shouldn't be.
I can actually downsample my resolution with fifa 15 to bring it to 1920x1200 or 1920x1080 to improve the antialiasing and it works; but what it doesn't work is the aspect ratio that remains 16:9 no matter what I try. With other games it definitely works: no black bars, correct aspect ratio, full screen.
4. Given the point 3 is true, IT definitely IS a EA Issue; not mine. And apparently not only mine (just read the complains on the ea forum about the same issue). Moreover if I remember correctly, in fifa 14 there was the option to remove the 16:9 directly in the game settings. So yes you maybe right: it's not an EA issue it's worst: it's either that they believe everybody is playing in 16:9 (and maybe 1920x1080 as the aliasing gets much worse on different resolutions than that) or they are just lazy a** that doesn't even bother to add a simple option as they did in 2014. Remember anyway that the cru and nvidia panel method is just a workaround not a solution. The solution should be a patch from EA as requested by many users

Maybe I'm not a Richard Stallmann but I believe I know what I'm doing in this case
