How to change the assignments of Keys?

lol ... they got really big critic in the past versions of fifa (98,99,2000,2001) because there was no key-assign-function.. so they include the key assignment function in the 2002, WC 2002 and 2003 versions ... but now in 2004 they took it away again .. i dont understand the ea sports developer team..

i think we will make a fault if we buy this game!!!!!!!!:kader: :kader: :kader:

This is simply unbelievable. It really is. Who in their right mind releases a football game without controller reassignments or the ability to save replays. It truly defies belief.

Also, i have a PS2 pad connected to my PC, and for some bizarre reason, it won't turn off the rumble force on my pad. It just rumbles ALL the time. How crap is that!?!

There are certain things you can forgive a games company for, but some of what EA have tried to palm us off with this year is truly unforgivable and makes me furious. I'm just glad PES3 is coming to PC soon. Goodbye FIFA, nice knowing you...

You can change. Find fifa2004/data/system/config.dat and edit it by notepad. Find your controller name and rearrange number.

Example> "Logitech WingMan RumblePad" 9 "Logitech WingMan RumblePad" 9 1 2 3 4 5 8 7 10 9 6 0
-> "Logitech WingMan RumblePad" 9 "Logitech WingMan RumblePad" 9 1 2 3 4 5 8 6 7 9 6 0

well thats great then, who needs a button config option. ill let you know how i get on with the ps2 version. oh wait....

This is all good, but the problem is still unsolved for the users of Thrustmaster gamepads. I've tried it all with the config file. I've added lines, I've manipulated all the other lines, and still FIFA sets up my controller to work with 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9... Do you have any solutions for the thrustmaster gamer?
