How do i coach a national team?

Get your reputation up and then apply if someone gets sacked. But if you want to do it the add manager way I always do it like this: For example you want to manage Spain. If you have the Spanish league selected.
from where you have to chose your team
1. go to choose from a list
2. pick a spanish team
3. now you see their squad.
4. left above you have that little button, click it and you see a list of all the spanish teams. All thew way down is spain. Click it.
5. You now see spanish squad -> right bottom there is a button ''take control''
6. You are now manager of spain. After a few weeks (in CM time) you'll get bored if you don't have a team to coach too
