Horizontal Tearing Effect

I just got PES4, but to my surprise it has the same tearing effect as PES3. So I did exactly what I did in PES3 and turned forced v-sync on, but the tearing remains, I have the latest drivers, 9800 Pro. Any way to solve this ?

What card are you using ? Do you have Riva Tuner installed ?

What refresh rate are you running ? What tyep of monitor do you have ?

FYI, I did have tearing on my screen, I have an LCD 19" monitor, with a 6800 Ultra Gfx, I forced AS and AF with Riva Tuner to 4x and 8x resepctively - also I turned V sync on for both 3d tweak setting and Open GL settings. I also turned my monitor up to 75Hz refresh rate - this go trid of most (not all btw) tearing.

Have a read of this thread good info for you !!

Good Info

The site is full of other good info re gfx drivers issues etc

I have a 9800 Pro. Im running 85hz in desktop on a 17" CRT. By the way , how do you force the refresh to stay the same, like when playing PES4 it always converts back to 60hz if I start the game, and back to 85hz when i quit to desktop.

Have you tried full-screen & window mode? Tearing is always there in window mode on my PC.
V-Sync On & refresh 60hz fix my Tearing...

You can use Riva Tuner to force your refresh rate - did you go to the site I supplied you - all your anwsers are there mate !!!

Ok I got Riva Tuner, how do I set it up so that it forces the refresh rate ?

EDIT: OK, I made a rule 'all modes @ 85hz'. Ive tested it and it works for other games which defaults to 60hz, but PES4 keeps reverting back to 60hz all the time.

Ok,

Try this,

Go to desktop , click on desktop, then properties. settings, advanced, then do you see a tab above for your graphics card, if yes click on that , then there should be a refresh rate overide settings - go into that and overide the setting you want dependant of the resolution you are using.

This worked for me but pls remember I am using Nvidia so it maybe different for me.

As I have already said if you go to the Website link I gave you - ALL THE ANSWERS ARE THERE !!!

You are asking on a football firum how to setup drivers , refresh rates etc - why dont you go to where people only talk about graphical performance. ??

Graphical Help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to that link you gave me, in that thread they only discuss having v-sync on or off, and what the pros/cons of each are. I kinda fixed the problem by switching to 1024x768 , but now the game seems laggy, which is weird because I can run it perfectly in 1280x1024. Thanks for the help anyway.
