Hi im new to this forum and the main reason i have joined is to basically get some help on FM2006. Im currently struggling to find a real good tactic for my Grays Ath team. In FM2005 i used to always play a 4-1-3-2 formation with Normal mentality and short passing and it worked a treat.

I have been playing FM2006 since release and cannot find a formation that is consistent, I have tried everything. Hopefully someone can help. This is my squad:

Paul Willis GK
Ashley Bayes GK
Darren Holloway CB/RB
Cameron Mawer RB
Gabriel Zaukani CB
Matt Lockwood LB
Mark Greaves CB/RB
Jamie Stuart LB
Wes Daly DM/MRC
Dennis Wise DM
Richard Jones CM
David Flitcroft CM
Aaron Mclean LW/ST
Ross Harris AM/FRC
Brian Carrigan AM/F/RLC
Toni Koskela AM/RC
Dennis Oli ST
Lee Boylan ST
Paul Mullin ST
Clive Platt ST

goto the "What is the best formation?" thread and download the tactic i put there, it works great

its a 4-4-2 with 2 wingers, a defensive midfielder and an offensive midfielder

i'd be interested to see how you like the formation, so if you use it post back your results here, and if you are pleased with it or not

I had a problem playing as Barcelona... i were playing with the default 451 what they use... and ended up playing 442 with a CDM and an CAM and that did the trick.

But it depends on how good ur players are in their positions.

Ive actually started using it in a Birmingham game that i started. Only 10 games gone in the championsip (DB updated) and im sitting top after winning 7 drawing 2 and losing 1 so its looking good. Cheers

What worked well for my Kettering team is 4-4-2. Anyway Dennis Oli is a quality player in the conference, so stick him on often run with ball. Have the tempo set one below Quick, Wide width and very direct passing. I also had counter attack on but it depends on who your playing. The key to lower league football is to keep getting at your opponents defence and forcing them to make mistakes, thus playing long/direct balls.
