help! game won't run!!

hi guys!! i'm a new member in this forum... though i've been reading comments here for a long time already
I bought UEFA Challenge butthe game won't run...after the intro movie, it shows the copyright page with the infogrames logo, then goes to desktop the becomes a black screen... it hangs there... any thoughts... any help would be appreciated... i've tried re-installing but with the same result...
my PC is P-550 128 MB with a TNT 2 card

What version of Direct X have you got?

I've got a directX 8. I already had dx8 but since it wouldn't run, I installed the dx8 that came with UEFA Challenge but no luck!!

Make sure you've got Nvidias latest detonator drivers that seems to fix most black screen lockup problems. www.nvidia.com then follow the links through support centre.

i noticed that those who have problems with this game have NVidia graphic cards. i have TNT2 and downloaded the detonator, but still it won't work...

Hi,
Have you got a sound card?
If not the game will exit to the deasktop in this way.
It is mentioned on the box that you need a soundcard.
However we have fixed this for the patch.

i use the Nvidia Riva Tnt2 model 64 x 32 meg, and with no problems at all ...driver version 4.12.01.0758 .. With an Awe 64 sound card .. Ned

thanks guys for your responses!! I've also got a Riva Tnt 2 M64 and i tried the latest drivers in nvidia's homepage which is 4.12.01.0650. well, it still doesn't work. it hangs after copyright page after the intro. my soundcard is a crystal CS4281.
