I think he deserved more recognition, he made thinks that only Maradona and maybe Dinho did, he was pure art,

surely among the top 5 players ever in my book.
"pure art" defines him well, his game was beautiful to watch.

Hagi is a legend...he makes me feel proud that I am Romanian. (Y)

True that bro (Y). Best Romanian player ever (although Dobrin comes close), there will never be another Hagi.

Stunna: :D that's great man

diroix: I've never heard it put like that before hehe (H)

shinji: I don't think it was because he was Romanian it's just that he peaked at Galata and not at Barca or Real where he would of gotten a lot more attention worldwide.

Thinking of some of the stuff he did gives me goosebumbs.

Just the thought at his long range chips makes me feel sorry and insensible for all the young players touted the next Hagi.

during the 94 world cup when so many legendary stars played, romania vs switzerland was like hagi vs alain sutter.

hagi scored for romania and when sutter equalised with a scorching long shot, the commentator went like this -

"...what hagi can do... sutter can do in kind..."

simply awesome, both of them.

yeah, hagi was great. some guys said, he peaked at galatasaray, but i don't think he played bad at barca. it was just much more difficult, with barcelona always chasing the european cup. they menaged to get it only in 1992. (and previous year too)

at the WC 94 in usa, it was romania that we in Bulgaria expected to play with at the semi finals, but it didn't happend. i guess sweden got just lucky at the end of the game.
anyway, hagi will remain a superstar and what is more, he will go along with the chosen ones, like maradona, and our stoichkov. :rockman:
i still remember his shot against monaco, i guess, i the champions league with galata, and the one against colombia in usa'94, and the one against argentina... :ewan:
