Guardiola's Manchester City Thread

City's £38m Bonucci bid rejected

Stupid City going after Bonucci when they have recently spent billions on Mangala and Otamendi + they have Kompany. They need a left back.

No they need a centre back or even two. They were supposed to get Laporte and stones but Laporte shocked us all by re-signing. Kompany injury is serious and recurring, as I said it is same type of injury that ended Hargreaves career, and otamendi just doesn't cut the mustard and should be sold back to Spain. Mangala showed signs of improvement last season but he still can't be leading the line.

Chygrynskiy, bentatia, kirchhoff, caceres all failed to impress ... did he buy anyone else?

That's a good point, some of those guys were expensive too.

Guardiola builds his back line by moving the defenders to midfield and the midfielders to defence.

Pique and Caceres were bought by Txiki.

Thats a good point, i think its due the specific role the CB play in Guardiola's gamemodel, he might never been good signing CB so far but he has improved to the limits players lije Pique, Abidal, Puyol, Boateng, Kimmich and Alaba.

I mean, its not the same defending deep and as a block than defending big open spaces and being related with the build up, there are only few players capable to do this.

I disagree with Sir_Didier_Drogba about Otamendi, he has a lot of qualities to pkay that way (great anticipator, good long passer, quite fast, agressive...) i think Pep will improve him.

He didn't buy Kirchoff, that's a classic Bayern front office move of snapping up all decently promising young German players and hoping they adapt. Kimmich would be the same thing, although he's the only one who has actually succeeded in the last 20 years.

Kimmich is a Guardiola signing, he went to RB Leipzig pitch to watch him play against Weigl team.

We are discussing stupid stuff

Yeah, lets talk about how De Bruyne is going to become one of the top players in the world. A central midfield player. Sterling to fulfil his potential and if Sane signs that is a very tasty attack.

Sterling is the kind of player he will try to turn into a false 9

A false 9? Possibly, yeah. Sane could be that if that move goes through too. But I suspect he is going to play them as inside forwards either side of Aguero to be pragmatic. KDB in CM with Yaya and Gundogan. They need fullbacks really bad.
