why? it'd be awsome

Becuase in SA, they wanted a large map. However most of these areas were just wide open spaces for miles, with no content. I'd rather they concentrate on a smaller area.

San Andreas sucked, so hopefully this'll be more like Vice City.

For me it just didnt quite have the humour, Miami in the 80s was just a masterstroke of possible puns lol

Seems interesting. Too bad I'm not thinking of buying any more consoles after the PS2.

What a depressing statement lol. Think (as with the PS2) i'm gonna get a job and buy it maybe this time next year with GTAIV

Yeah, and the characters from Vice City are better, italian mafia, cubans, haitians, bikers....and about the city, I want to be something between VC and SA...

What the hell I'm talking, I don't have PS3 or XBOX.... :(

Couldn't agree more, as a concept, and in the way it was carried out, Vice City (and to be fair, GTA3 before it) were far far far better than San Andreas. Of course SA was a great game, and a technical improvement, but i never found it as addictive, and most importantly, as funny as its predecessors.

Looks (from the cars) that this is present day NY, which might be alright.

I wish they picked somewhere other than Liberty City again, just for some variation, but it should work out fine with all the new content and whatnot. I hope they keep the map smaller than SA but add a lot more interactivity within the map eg more buildings to go into.

Yeh i agree, to be honest i played VC for hours and hours and only got slightly bored with the map, something like that but with more countryside (ala SA) would be great. If anything the vastness of San Andreas made it feel as though some parts hadnt been entirely concentrated on.

The thing for me will be the improvement in gameplay though, one thing that SERIOUSLY holds GTA back is the realism factor, the fact you could only ever see six or seven cars at once on screen is a big put-off for me, as is the fact other drivers dont really have any intelligence. Rag-doll physics for the cars would help too, with damage sustained actually affecting the way the car works.

Maybe im wrong, just like to see a bit more realism added into the mix, while keeping the same silly GTA moments lol

You will probably see me selling weed on some street corner. :(

No they won't. It's probably just going to be Manhattan, no one would make a map of a ****hole like Queens. I really gotta stop going to xoxohth before coming here.

I look forward to gunning down pretentious assholes on the Columbia campus.

Oh, and that trailer is probably the reason I buy a PS3 with my first law school loan.

While technically this is probably "Liberty City", this looks like NEW YORK. No fake maps; we're going to get Wall Street, Times Square, and Central Park. God that's cool.

My one concern is that True Crime: Streets of New York came out like 2 years before this game. Obviously it won't even be comparable, but I don't like the idea of playing a new game with the same map of a game I've already completed. Would have preferred something completely new, like Paris or Hong Kong.

Ah... the nights spent playing SA. I remember that pack of truck missions on the countryside. (H)

I guarantee you that NYC won't be the only city in the game. I'm sure they'll release some new city in the next couple of trailers.

Plus GameInformer is doing a 10-page preview of IV in next month's issue.
