Hey guys,

I got 2 tickets today in my lunchhour at work for the Newcastle vs PSV game at St James's for next wednesday :)) £22 each for the milburn stand is bloody excellent.

anyhow, I am fine getting there, I live in London so I need to travel from Stevenage station to newcastle, which will take 3 hours, what I need to know is, where abouts is the Holiday Inn in newcastle, me and my mate will arrive in newcastle at 6.45 (approx) which is an hour before kick off, at the train station, how far is the holiday inn from there? I was thinking of dropping off the luggage at the hotel bunging it in the room and then shooting over to the stadium. is an hour enough time to walk to Holiday Inn and then walk to the stadium? how far is the Metro Centre from the main part of Newcastle? what good pubs are there? I met a family up at Newcastle in March last year and it would be really great to pop in and see them again, it was a lovely pub and I remember it pretty well, I have pics taken in that pub, if I could post could someone try and identify the pubs name for me?

Hope some of you can help! :D I really cant wait to go, it would be the 3rd time I've been to st james's :)

Kind Regards

I'm not sure where the Holiday inn is but if you can i'd set off earlier. I'd give yourselves a few hours in advance as the trains are un-reliable.

If I was you, I wouldnt want to have wasted £22 on tickets and about that on Trains and even more on Hotels too arrive late for the game.

enjoy your day.

I'm from th north-east but wouldn't be able to help him with the Holiday Inn part of it. For a good pub I suggest the Strawberry. Right outside the ground and great if you havent got much time to spare for a drink. Be warned, it might be heaving as UEFA forbid any alchohol to be served in the Stadiums. If you've only got an hour to spare and you wanna have I drink I suggest you save it until after the game.

How strict are they about bringing booze into games? I remember going to Patriot games were my friend's dad would have us (as kids) smuggle flasks in for him.

Anyway your Holiday doesn't seem too close to St James.
It'll be tough making it to to the game on time. :(

I'm going to Bordeaux vs Valencia on thursday :) they kick off at 18.45 (gmt) ... hope i'll make it back home in time for newcastle's game
