Games not counting?

This has happened twice in the last few games i have played. I have scored in the first 5 minutes of a game, which leads the other players to hit pause and quit. For some reason these games arent counting as wins for me? Whats going on

I think if you quit an online game within the first 30 minutes of the match then it doesn't count. EA Sports must have some reasons for this. For instance if you are in a match and you play and you realise that the connection is very poor so you quit early without getting punished.
