Gamepad issues for PC

Hey guys,

I've been having some troubles with my gamepad in euro2004. Pretty much everything works great, but the only problem is that I have no button that would correspond with shift on the keyboard to perform tricks and fakes. In the game controls menu there is nothing that I can bind for this action. You can't change it for the keyboard either I noticed. The gamepad I'm using is a gravis xtirminator digital. Is there any way to change the control in a config file or anything else ??

There is a way to change the config stuff, but I don't know how. Until someone posts that, try to press SELECT on your gamepad if it has one because that's the equivalent of SHIFT for some gamepads. That's how i do all my jukes and stuff.

I'm guessing your controller doesn't have analong sticks becuase it just the right analong stick for the moves.

Actually i was never able to get the right analogue stick on my Playstation two controller to work, by default its select. But whatever, I'm probably getting a different controller soon.

my problem with my controller is that I carnt use my Joypad to move the guy, while using the right analog stick. I have to use the left analog stick if i want to use the right one for moves as well. Its annoying becasue my Left analog stick is stuffed, doesnt move right. So i have to use the Joypad to move my guy , but i carnt do tricks ..

Does any 1 kno how to make my Joypad and right analog stick correspond with each other? i got it working with PES3 but there isnt many controller options in Euro 2004

The gamepad has one analog stick on the right as well as a d-pad on the underneath it. There isn't an analog stick on the right, just an 8 direction POV stick... basically the same as a d-pad. The right analog stick isn't the only way to do tricks, because on the keyboard you can just hold shift and then a direction. I wonder if it is possible to make the pov switch act like an analog stick..... hhhhmmmmm

Thanks for the tip, even though I don't have a select button, the start button works as the trick modifier, and I have succesfully completed two nutmegs that resulted in goals for the great Micheal Owen!!!!!!!!!!!!!


I'm gonna keep looking into how to modify the config files in Euro2004 becuase me start button is kind of awkward to reach when you're in the heat of beating a defender.
I've also noticed that this post has had alot of views so far, so I can only guess that other people are having the same controller config problems as I am. So hopefully someone will be able to find out how to modify the configuration files more in-depth so that other gamers out there can learn how to make the game suit themselves better.

Now we just need someone who has explored the actuall "Modifier" button to share there findings. The only thing I've found with it is that if you hold that and the shoot button you do a fake kick..... is there any way to lob the ball into space, or even head the ball into space? If there isn't, EA should definatly look into that for an upcoming patch.
