Well, I don't believe you get both (they are effectively different generations of the same technology), but you should be able to find mention of one or the other in your BIOS settings. Exactly where will depend on a whole variety of factors, including the make and model of your laptop, so I can't give you any more detailed instructions I'm afraid.

yes! Im glad the word is spreading about this fix... worked a treat for me

I wonder if its something that EA can correct in a patch. Not everyone is confident to go fiddling around in their BIOS...

Given that the same issues existed for both FIFA 06 and FIFA 07 I'd say that the chances of EA fixing it in a patch are somewhere between sod all and none.

lolz... interesting though that I never had to disable this setting in the past though :(

Back in FIFA 06 days, I wouldnt have known how myself :p

@steppie....going into your bios is usually done by pressing delete when your pc first boots up.... if you read the text that quickly flashes on the screen when you power your pc on, it will say something like "Press <whatever> to enter setup" That's what you need to press. In the Bios, you'll have to navigate until you find the CPU settings that will allow you to disable 'cool n quiet', save, exit, and bobs your uncle, it'll (hopefully) be fixed :p
