Hi Jon, im just wondering how you managed to find yor way into the gamng industry, did you have to go to university, or did you just walk into a job without qualifications.
Im askning this cos this is the career path i wish to take, but in the graphical part of game development. See there is this video games course at salford university and im gonna hopefully join that course. But im wondering if its necessary to do this.

I can't really comment on that question but I guess that you would some qualifications like C C++ programming and other kinds of programming languages, you'd proberly need (****e)maths too...

Come to singapore!!
I'm taking this course in July as first year student. I was actually a student of Information Technology last year but appealed to go digital media design(the website above). Go to the site, and plan to migrate here. You don't even have to go to university. There are graduates who even joined EA Sports. :)

Career prospects:
With an increasing demand for skilled digital media professionals worldwide, a wide range of challenging and rewarding careers awaits the graduates of this course. They can work as classical or digital animators, interactive media designers/producers, content developers, computer graphic artists, games designers or developers in a growing billion-dollar multimedia industry of interactive entertainment, games production, animation, CD-titles development, corporate communications and education.

Yea, I quit IT because I don't like programming.
