I find it odd that you had a yellow card for EA bashing, yet, Mouta got nothing for "Konami bashing" with his tirade against PES3

I think it`s clear enough . . . As minority fans in this forum we should adapt ourself for some "discrimination" . . .

it's an old pic or smth, we have Editing Forum either
creating separate forums for WE2002, ISS Pro 98, ISS2, ISS3, PES1, PES2, PES3 wouldn't be the best idea bacause of lack of posts (small amount of ppl play older Konami games (I don't count WE2k2 coz it has still many many supporters because of online mode for ePSXe but they usually have their own forums dedicated for online gaming discussions)

there was Technical Issues forum but it was dead, just few posts in few month of existing, nobody posted there; maybe separate Kits forum, maybe Boots forum, but no, I don't think so high number of subforums would be good
for boots we already have 'All About Boots Creating Thread', most of patchmakers have their own kits/boots/balls threads and all seems to be clear

we are elite :mrpimp:
I don't want many subforums with two posts per week, after PES4/WE8 relased maybe we will need some new subforum because of load of mess with totally new patches and ppl questions, reviews, screenshots, impressions etc. like it was after PES3 relasing

many children will keep comin' from fifa forums again and will start asking the same stupid quesitons all the time like the used to do after PES3, so probably "Newbie in PES World? Look here first!" forum will be definitely needed :D

PES seems to have always been an "afterthought" on SG.

Great Post by that guy from scotland...very interesting

ive never played PES, since i'm not a big gamer. But ill tell you my history

in 1997, i bought FIFA 97 on PC, and found it pretty good, since id never played football games before then, and was a fan of ISA and EPL.
a few months later i bought FIFA 98 RTWC and thought, damn what an awesome game, a massive step up from 97. Hungry for more, the next year once World Cup 98 on PSX came out, I traded it in for 98 oin PC, and was very disappointed. There was a slight improvement in graphics, but the gameplay felt more dull. The next time i bought a soccer game was FIFA 2000 for PSX, and it was decent, but it was lacking something that FIFA 98 did, and the results felt fixed. Like if you were up 3-2 for most of the second half, the opponents would get a goal during stoppage time - the results felt scripted.

The reason i joined this forum today was to find a way of making FIFA 2003 creation centre work. I had a copy of FIFA 2003 that my friend lent me from last year lying around, and since i got a new computer that could handle graphics (my first new PC since like '99), i gave it a shot. I'm enjoying it at the moment, since im not used to soccer games, and the slick presentation i really like. But upon hearing the comments here, I'm tempted to give PES a spin and i can realise where you people are coming from, although im not the guy who buys these games year in year out.

Fifa used to be all i played. I bought WE7i for PC on ebay recently and haven't played FIFA since. WE7/PES is way better than FIFA gameplay wise.
Fifa definately has it's strong points (audio, licenses, presentaion) but when it comes to the game on the pitch, WE7 can't be beat.

At least this guy knows how to give reasons why he doesn't like the game and what he thinks could make it better.
Unlike some people i know.

Tell me this. Are you still going to check out fifa 2005 at least for a rental?

And how do you feal about the licences. I mean, apparently you have it on pc, you can put a patch on for real names and players. But what of us with consoles? (and dont say tough luck) Would you like Pes without licences? or would it ruin the experience for you?

You can still patch ur PES/WE for ur console. That's ton of patches for WE/PES for PS2.

There`s a way of patching for consoles. There`s a thread about it at the PES forum somewhere. My PES on PS2 is updated with real kits. Anyway, licensing is cool, but it comes as my 5th or 6th priority in a football game. My number 1 priority is always gameplay and players authentic real life behaviour comes second. And so far that`s what PES brings. FIFA gives you licenses on their number 1 priority and stupid eyecandies feature like individual teeth comes second. To be honest, I don`t really give a damn how the teeth looks like when I`m playin` usin` a tower cam . . .

agreed. and after playing PES/WE, going back to FIFA is a struggle. I just tried playing Euro 2004 again and ugh! i couldn't do it.
Although i do love the league play in FIFA. you just can't have a realistic season/dynasty in PES. Which sucks. If PES had FIFA's license, it would be the be all and end all of footy games.
Licenses are a bit higher up for me. Like a number 3 priority.
but ya, when you're zoomed way out and playing... who cares about the details. and even still, i think PES has way better player models than FIFA/EURO.

Are you asking me? I will NOT buy FIFA 2005. Period. They deserve at least a year off from my money for all the crap they've given me, particularly since I have a real alternative in PES4.

There are lots of patches for those with a console and the XPORT device.

FIFA has their take on the overall presentation; I actually think its less realistic than PES3, without any patches...that's how bad I think FIFA is.

Again, just look at the opening cinemas, look at the intro sequences to games you play, look at the cup winning/tourney winning cinemas, and this is ofcourse after you conclude the inevitable about the gameplay...

PES3 is football understood and undertaken. FIFA is football manipulated and misunderstood.

i could be wrong here because i havnt actually looked into or done this (yet), but i think u can burn a cd with replaced textures and use that on consoles.

Great reading this post...

I had exactly the same feelings as the Mr. from Scotland here...

Played all fifa games untill PES was released on the pc. What an eye-opener this game was... Incredible... I always had the feeling the fifa series didn't do what I wanted the game to do... PES gives me total freedom in playing a football game.

The first time I played the PES3 Demo I went crazy! I do not post that often but then I had to post my opinion about Fifa and PES. And again I want to express my feelings about PES!! (what a game can do to someone's emotions :D )

At the moment I play WE7:I it's even better than PES3, The game is tweaked and play's supurb...

Thanks Mr from Scotland for posting, can't wait to get home en start a game of footie!!!

is WE7 for pc?

about the thread, i could never play fifa again, since i played iss2 for psx...and that game has a better gameplay than fifa 2004...EA is so behind, every year they focus in the wrong directions..When they made fifa03 i thought they were going in the right direction, they improved the game alot from WC2002..but then, fifa 04 and euro04 have been steps backwards...

I owned alot of FIFA series until 2004 (on XBOX), then I heard about this WE game, and I quickly gave the XBOX to my bro (in his room) and i bought WE6 and a PS2, now I have WE7 and it is so kick ass. The gameplay is better, you can edit, and best of all Peru is in the game :rockman:
