Senior Squad
I'm going to be playing with a New Orleans team in the upcoming Rio Maior Summer Cup and the Cristal Cup in Portugal. I'm just curious if these are somewhat big events? This is amateur by the way, i'm a U17.

There are great teams in portugal especially in Under's 21 categories. Expect some great rivals like FC PORTO , Benfica, Boavista, Sporting... like Goo Goo said we are the champion's in U-17 and we won Toulon Tournament too.

I played for Lafreniere in New Orleans, but my team divided and i'll probably be playing at state champions Cajun Burn. They are at regionals right now and have a shot at winning it.

Having played Bayern Munich, 1860 Munich, and Fiorentina before - i'm pretty sure we're going to get slapped around. The New Orleans team is not an actual club team, it's just a group of players locally, North Carolina, and New Jersey. We won't even have trained together until we get to Rio Maior. I think the other American team, DC United, will represent us a little better. It will be fun and if I score a goal i'll be happy.

I just got back last night and if anyone is interested we won 5 games and lost 2. Unfortunately some of the teams we played were not up to the same competition level as the two American teams which resulted in some huge blowouts. The only two games my team lost was to DC United and a U21 or U23 pro team.
The only result that might mean anything was a 1-0 win over U.D. Leiria, the other wins were against smaller teams like Rio Maior, Santarem, Marinhese (sp?), and another team i'm forgetting.
