For Jon Ste + Co - regarding Gamespot UK review

I saw a review of Uefa Challenge (PC) a couple of days ago on Gamespot uk

It is fairly reasonable review, but it gives the game 6.9 out of 10, complaining that there is no way of curling the ball, and mentioning the various bugs you hope to fix with the coming patch.
I thought given that most of these negative points mentioned should be ironed out, I emailed gamespot to tell them that it was possible to curl the ball - and how. I also told them about the patch...and to my surprise they actually bothered to reply! Here it is:

Hardly War and Peace stuff - I know, but they might release a review of the patched game.

I find the review a bit harsh but then again that is because of all them bugs, they really pulled the score down low.

I'm sorry guys, this game really is annoying, great graphics and little touches, like the players breathing in the cold weather, snow effects etc.

However the gameplay is really poor. Passing is scripted and lobbing is comical at times. The one - two button only works in the oppositions half. The special moves are impossible to use in a game situation and shooting is ridiculous.

How do you curl the ball anyway? Do you have time to curl the ball? The ball rockets into the back of the net @ the speed of light or goes over or is saved by the keeper.

I paid good money for this game, I should of waited longer before I forked out all my cash. If you guys think the patch is gonna fix gameplay issues well don't hold your breath.

I am really pissed OFF bigtime. I have tried and tried to enjoy this game alas it's crap gameplay (player take to long to control the ball). You can not dribble past players like in ISS. The game just turns me off straight away.

Who wants to buy my copy of the game? :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

I agree with ya, but i think it5 cud be playable if the UC team put alot of effort into the gameplay..needs alot of work.
If this patch doesnt help alot, il be selling my copy too.

C'mon UC team , pleae release the damn patch!

ok, so how I can curl the ball???
This game have the best graphic ever (on PC) but the gameblay is... hmmm, not so good as i wish :(

Move your pad (or press the direction key) to the side you want to curl the ball as you are holding the shoot button. That should do it :)
