It alters your stats. You can distribute the points in each style, and by moving the style focus you can have more points to allocate in one style at the expense of the other. The coaching badges and past experience improve your available points. Obviously your stats improve with time and you can take courses to gain your badges. (for example I started a save unemployed and with no badge/past experience, and now that I have a club I can ask the board to let me take a coaching course to gain a badge)
I plan to never be a tracksuit manager, unless under special circumstances. Why waste attribute points when you can just hire another coach to do your job? Unless you want to be cheap.
I plan to go full out on "Motivating" if it improves team talks, as I imagine it should if this thing works the right way.
I started with a little more focus on the Tactical manager, as in the first few clubs I'll manage it can make a difference since I can only have one or two other coaches.
Yes that's the whole point of it I think, your attributes affect your ability to motivate them, or coach them in attack, just to give two examples.
I just started my first course btw, I had tried it before but the board rejected, but now they have agreed to it and are funding all €750 of it It will take 4 months apparently. I'll try to remember and see what impact it will have on the stats.
It's a new feature this year. Like other game elements we don't know their implications and are just guessing on what effects they have on the gameplay. Well we know for sure that you can use your coaching attributes in the training section of the team.
The amount of goals I concede from rebounds (keeper saves a shot from outside the area and an opposition player beats my defense to the rebound and has an open goal) is insane. I hope it's a reflection of my shitty, semi-professional defenders rather than a match engine problem.
When I made a new guy, I gave him max experience and badges and moved the slider all the way to the right (tactical manager). He had 20s in almost all his stats (Only 1 was 18 I believe).
It would've been cool to create a Facebook or Twitter account for Pablo Castro and link that to the Chelmsford Succession Game. We'd get instant updates all the time.
