Football Manager 2006 First Impressions

Too many injuries and too many goals conceded. I was beating Hearts 4-2 with Celtic, 3 minutes after I scored my 4th they scored 2, unreal. Seems that unless you have the best defence/goalkeeper, they score with every shot, done the same when I went Chelsea aswell, beating Man City 2-0 and 4 minutes before the end they bag 2, utter rubbish.

Plus I see that the chances of a GK kickout reaching my player is still at 20%. Oh and I also noticed that the (most) strikers can't score from 2 yards out, well only the unknown ones can.

When I was Chelsea, Crespo scored 7 goals in 3 Premiership games, not bad. I just feel the GK (my team only) is far too crap, doesn't matter if it is makalambay, Cech, Marshall or Boruc, they can barely save anything.

And almost every goal I concede is the same, aka a high ball over my players who have no eyes and they have a player miles ahead of my back 3, and with no surprises, score with absolute ease.

Ah well.

Plus I despise the fact that in-order to buy any player I need to put a bid in about 4x his value whereas the CPU seem to buy players for half of their value. Infact I have never once had a bid accepted when I have bidded what his value is.

Also, Sneijder moaned at his manager because Ajax refused my bid because he wanted to join, so I put it up to 20 mil and they accept, then it says he has no intentions in joining my club, what the feck?

I have been playing FM06 for about 2h now! and I think it is fantastic! I loved FM05. After playing FM06 I love that even more tham FM05!

I like the new features they have put into the game, and now I'm going to start a new season with Rosenborg BK, hopefully just as succesfull as the one at FM05!

I have to say, this game feels way different from 2005. Much more than you'd expect with such minor graphical changes.

The username "fender" has no significance to me, just the first word that came to mind when i had to register a username.

Jaap Stam is a Man United legend to me I was in shock when Ferguson decided to sell him.

For f*ck sake, how the hell do you keep a lead? everytime I am winning I end up losing, 2-0 to Tottenham and they end up winning 3-2, utter rubbish.

They give the ball away far too much, the GK kickouts are a bloody laugh, ah well, just the same sh*t 2005 was, all this is to me is a data update.

well, have you seen a FM/CM version that didnt have that? 06 is mostly a db update. And usualy stuff that are left out, or change durring the season are added to the game by applying one of the official patches.

06's match engine is horrendous. It's a tactical nightmare, actually.

I especially hate the speed of the thing.

The default setting of 3 is too ******* slow.

The next setting above it, 4, is too ******* fast. It's like watching a bloody pinball game, especially when the players decide to play twenty one-touch passes in a row.

I liked speed 4 on 2005, it was a bit quicker than a realistic paces but perfect for key highlights and most of all WATCHABLE.

That's just personal preference, isn't it? I'm happy with the standard speed, but feel the fastest isn't fast enough.

It feels really different from Fm05, the training looks great (havent really tried it yet) the development of player stats looks good, the statistics about players in their profile (number of shots, on target, goals etc.) the positions The subs bench Match engine improved too IMO, only played some friendlies though, with PSV, all easy wins...Now Im gonna edit the Dutch database.... Make Rosenberg a little crappier

I felt that fastest in 06 was faster than fastest in 05. It's like a blur to me though.
