fm2006 and way to speed up?

hey, is there any way to speed up the game?

like for example i'm only on 2009 but the game is taking alot longer because of all the history, and database etc.... any way to get it back to fast it was when u start a new game?

from the SI forums:

Do a Start->Run and type %temp% and press enter. An explorer window should pop up. Find the Football Manager 2006 folder, and delete all the .pks files from this folder. Make sure you don't delete the other file types. It's probably a good idea to make a backup of your savegame before you do this, just in case.

There's a savegame cleaner somewhere around with which you can load&save easier aswell as playing the game faster...
