FM 2007 vs. CM 2007

Help?

I'm pondering about getting back to the management gaming scene after like a 3 year break. I think i stopped around the time when SI released their last Championship manager title. So which one of the two do you guys like better and suggest to play? Actually add Fifa Manager 2007 to that discussion as well, that's the old Total Club Manager, right?

Well, you know what answer you're going to get here, but don't even think about buying CM 2007. FIFA Manager has improved IMO but still nowhere near FM.

Well, bluntly, Football Manager is the new Championship Manager, they just changed the name. Nowadays, Champ Manager is really, really bad.

FIFA has improved in recent years, as a member called Theo here will tell you, but for me FM is still lightyears ahead for the time being.

Download the demo from www.sigames.com and see what you think.

And the skin is actually better than the old CM skin. Different, but after a couple of hours it's all fine. Another plus for you, since you haven't played in 3 years, is that you'll find plenty of improvements/additions.

What Fifa is really good at is fluffing the game with things that aren't really related to the game. Like, I remember TCM 2004 had you being able to get married, have kids, and then have the kids play for you. But in terms of the actual management, FM beats any of those games.

Lol, serious? :D What i used to like about TCM over CM is that it had nice game engine and all the graphical improvements you could do to the stadium as well as your other facilities.

yeah, FIFA Manager is pretty decent, but as expected they try adding more things rather than improving on the current ones. though I absolutely loved the TCM series.

Yes, I am (they sucked). Look at this way, what you'll be doing the most is managing the team, transfers, and the matches themselves. In all of those terms, I think FM is better (although I really liked being able to take my TCM and play them on Fifa). Sure, creating a stadium, creating your own team and all that fluff is nice, but how much of it will you really be doing?

Although, I must admit, demolishing Anfield and erecting a 200,000 seater all indoors, high luxury stadium was pretty cool.

More accurate (H) You just forgot new CM after more crap, it still wins over FIFA related EA titles (H)

And actually, I would trade FM for Old CM. FM has given me so much pleasure playing than older CM. But older CM are great too.

Nah, CM is so crap that nobody on this forum(including me) noticed CM 2006(or whatever it's called) nor CM 2007 beeing released.
