In the demo you can see that the AI is much better...

Same will happen in PC version from what i've heard, demo was just a playable version...

The PC is much smoother than the demo version, im stuck on a laptop till the end of the week and it is surprising how smooth it runs with higher res settings compared with the demo...I it here in the US yesterday EBgames sent it out on monday for those who pre-ordered it

"Arcade Style Play"

Hi All -

I just read a new review for the Ps2 version at game zone and the author wrote this:

The game’s style was never simulation-style so thanks to its arcade-styled feel (much like Winning Eleven 7) this makes for a fast-paced game of football

Anyone else find this confusing. Is Euro more of an arcade version than sim?

That would be disaster....

The game does feel like the best FIFA yet, but like I said, it is rather short, not that i got bored in the 24 hours I had a copy to test through work (Ah the advantages of a managing a video games store), but with it being based around 51 teams and 1 tournament, I can imagine I'd be getting bored in a few weeks, or a month or so.

As for the difficulty, it is rather difficult. I was only winning like 1-0 on Semi Pro. My problem was, and that many people may find, is that on some difficulty settings you may find it too easy to stop the opposition from scoring, so you crank up the difficulty, but then you can't score at all... it's hard to find a medium.

As for free kick scoring, it's far harder to beat the keeper. I've done it once, Becks hit it with the outside of his foot, to bend it away from the keeper, cause all other angles the keeper just moved to one side and caught it too easy. And the pace on the kick is tough to get right, you do it too soft and the keeper makes and easy save, too hard and your fishing the ball from the back of the stand.

Other than a few minor issues, it's a very good game.

is the commentary different? A lot of the lines have been repeated since 2003 and there were a lot used from 2001 in 04. I dont expect them to completely revamp the commentary but is it different? If it is, how does it change?

Its alot better than FIFA 04, for example, faster pace of the game, faster players dont get caught very easy, the lighting and the stadiums look very nice, the shooting system and FK is horrible IMO. I mean I think they should steal the way of shooting from WE7. But in all I really love this game at the moment.

that sounds great! especially the bit about fast players not getting caught easily. I dont want to be a nag, but how is the commentary? I just want to know? And about the player morale system, how is that?. I preordered mine and i wont be getting it for another week. I'm dying to know.

got the game and I must say that i'm very impressed. It does have some FIFA Elements but it outshines it by far. The passing is improved so that the players dont' always stop when recieving a pass. Sometimes they recieve it in stride now and makes for a more realistic game. The diving headers are really cool too (except when you miss). I also like how the skill moves actually WORK now, that makes a big difference. Nice job EA, now if only this was online for the PS2....

everyones mentioning everything but the commentary:o :)

Another thing, are the skill moves random? are they player based or based on combos or what?

Keep the reviews comming, i'm really looking forward to this game.

The commentary was pretty good IMO. They really got on the team bad for missing shots. I mean one of the announcers was just saying "That is horrible, horrible football!"

skill moves appeared to be random but I haven't experimented enough. I don't know if players have their signature moves either, but I will continue to check and let you guys know if I find out.

Yea commentary is nice. I really like the pre-game with the national anthems and I like the injuries(Vieria got hurt and he was laying on the ground holding his back in pain, then when I resumed play he was barely running and he was holding his back the whole time. Then when I sub him out he got mad because he had to come out of the game).....

I'm not sure if anyone has tried this. But there is another type of pass. A "manual pass". It is described in the manual you get with the game.

You hold the same button you use to send a player on a run, and press pass. You can now power up your passes and play them into any space on the field, not just to the feet of the nearest player. This kind of pass is really good when you have a man up field un-marked, but he is quite far away. You just power up your pass and aim.

Yes, a variety of cinematics for substitutions. Even some really good ones for when a player gets injured. I had a player go down clutching his knee in a cinematic.

Yeah, I've used that pass too in the demo. It's pretty difficult to use with a keyboard, but with a bit of practicing it will work I think:).
