I was playing some be a pro as JT for Chelsea defender (yeh I know I always do things most probably would never bother with) its far more interesting with new ini. Some of the attempted crossed from awkward positions as AI defenders get to the ball and dropping the ball to the head of distant striker is lethal. Headers and diving flicking headers are much more apparent and much more drama, love it. Seems as if strikers will take more risks and attempted from places I havent noticed before to try to get a shot in.

One was a striker tight marked (I have marking very high) and defender on the wing just paced to get a leg into striker and he stumbled but managed to flick a chip lob before he fell (dont see that too often) and the ball fell to far post striker who took a flick header (who was again well marked) and just did an in-off from the post to richochete past keeper, looked like real football for a change.

Lots more panic in the box, some pass backs to mid field or defenders if they cant get a shot in to re try which wasn't so obvious before. One very nice thing is the quick 1-2 flick on that players do more of now. You pass and they flick through ball in one quick touch down the wing, seen some nice counter attack play from that move. Back heels are a little more cheeky now :)

All in all with my sliders (posted previous) for line height/marking pass speed and run speed its such a refreshing game to watch. England V Ireland 0-0 to extra time to penalties 20 min halves, some of the replays and highlights of attempted goals were sweet to watch.

I did also notice that defender will try more crossing to mid field or attackers than get bogged down in ping pong triangular loops at the back, which is good, but can give possession away a bit more often. Then again thats nothing you cant sort out with tactics and forms setting crossing to low which I use when starting a game to see how things play before switching to more risky play.

I would say to anyone to test my sliders and this ini update and play as a be a pro central defender (I bet thats a rare choice for many)... plenty of drama on the attack :33vff3o:

@Fifamonkey .. yeah,man,i just tried your sliders and really is a refreshing game!realistic statistics,indeed sometimes drama in the box .. maybe the pace is a little bit slow but probably it depends on tactics .. thanks for that tips .. (Y)

Can someone help me make my defenders better? They either give up when the AI runs down the sidelines and generally are just very easy to get past.

No problem, yes pace and running speed etc is personal pref I just find that speed more visually real and combined with pass speed effects pass choices and getting to the ball, combined that with 100 marking you get some good tussles for the ball. Set your running speeds as you prefer if you play all for player team but balance pass speed with it.

The only changes I made for this new ini is shot error & pass error I lowered to 53 each instead of 55.

Again was playing a John Terry be a pro defender again last night (dont know why but at first I hated the idea and tried it and now I love it, a real sense of disappointment if they get through). Anyway the action in the box and attempts are superb, I played another 20 min halves match and no one scored until 60th minute and we got one back in the 85th. The highlights half time and at the end of the match prove its not boring if it isn't a high scoring game with these settings. Quite a realistic turn over of play, possession and attempts on goal. Also some of the reaching saves of Gk's look great for replays.

Another thing I noticed is certain strikers taking low shots parallel to far post into the corner shots pretty devistating for Gk's.

The only thing I still dont like at the moment is the push pull aggression at times and esp AI performing this in the box, im getting at least 1 penalty game due to this. Its a shame that this aggression cant be lessened in the box.

For AI out of your control: Lower your "line height" (defenders pull back more) sliders and also set marking sliders (tighter marking for all including defenders) to high value, see my sliders posted previous for those particular settings. Use tactics d-pad "defend" when being attacked, also if needed look at the powerful striker and "man mark" in preferences before game with your best marking stat defender in that opposing position, although dont set this if they are a forward attacking formation to keep the defence line balanced.

If you play all, dont just switch - switch - switch to a defender when they are literally on the player as that can delay timings and slow down as AI switches to your control. As you get attacked or countered use your left stick and flick it to select a relevant defender (check radar) BEFORE they get into the 3rd so your countering them ahead of time and pull back with the defender than run into them, becuase if your parallel to them and switch or run at them and tackle more then likely they will get passes and you can never pace back to catch them.

Just think ahead, treat defending line like a rubber band pushing and pulling with a invisible gap between them and any attackers, as your attacked pull back and jocky and just get in the way but always be your side of the goal with them. If all else fails use second player help option with RB to get another AI to block a pass lane (let the button go when they are in front of them to let AI take over again) and then use your controlled defender to pull back again to counter any passes.

@Fifamonkey .. i play in Career with 'fifamania superpatch' with settings almost 'manual'(except shot&pass,semiassisted) .. no 'be a pro',maybe rarely .. i'm looking for tight matches&scores('italian style'!) with more batle on the midfield&drama .. now,thanks for your sliders tips is a very interesting flow&pace in matches .. untill then,too much goals&big accuracy from CPU .. now,ultimate gameplay from Fidel is nicely!
and maybe later i find some free time for introduce in my game your 'ambiance soundpack' .. cheers .. ;)

I'm using your tweaks and sliders but still the AI is dumb. Can't defend, lets players walk right by, usually when sprinting down the line, and cannot clear headers. This makes be a pro mode worthless. Is there any fix for that?

Also is there any way to edit the quicksim engine? Sometimes a lot of bad decisions, such as being down a goal and never even using 1 sub. So annoying.

You never said that you played be a pro :)

So I assume your playing a pro that isnt a defender? Well if you experience this (I dont myself so not sure what to say) with all sliders & latest ini my defence when its all AI do good job to get back before the attacker and get a leg in or clearances esp header clearances. Like I say I can play 20 min halves and get 0-0 results. If you mean defenders cant clear headers, headers with latest ini are lethal, but then I personally like the challenge knowing thats more of a danger,so maybe revert back to previous ini.

If you playing be a pro mode not career then you still have d-pad access and formations to run. If its career you will be at the mercy of the AI, but short of everything I could suggest or sliders how this DB runs and new ini, just think ... its my career as a pro that's important and my performance, if the team are bad or teams defence is weak then just do what YOU need to get done or put in for a transfer.

I haven't had much of an experience of dumb AI in defence with line height settings and 100 marking with Db and ini for a long time. You will get moments that will naturally happen but compared to vanilla "defender slows down and looks at the striker run by" moments, I cant say I see that much any more.

Also a top tip, you might want to test out Immersion mod (other thread here) as that's VERY similar but using a more in depth DB for per player performance but is mainly geared to user V AI & has the most up to date transfers etc. Apart from that I dont know what else to suggest, maybe your just expecting more than these things offer, but your description of AI doesn't seem to fit what im experiencing.

Be A Pro gameplay plays differently than regular gameplay. It plays easier (CPU plays poorly) in order to make playing with your pro easier. I don't know of anyone on this site who has devoted any time to finding a solution for this.

Well im using be a pro and Pro career with this Db and I dont have dumb Ai for defence, silly moment, lots of clashes and tight marking but not much stupidity over all.

I tried Be A Pro after I posted that and truth be told it played fine. So it must come down to sliders, db, product file, etc. But it is easier: I usually lose 2-0, 3-1, but I won 3-0, and scored a goal and added an assist. My team obviously plays better without me controlling them!

I just can't get a lot of clean sheets, every team at least once runs down the sideline, crosses in, and scores a goal. And there's nothing I can do to stop it short of not play be a pro. It's annoying. Should I use the latest product.ini from Fidel or the one you posted in your post a few pages ago, fifamonkey?

My biggest issue with FIFA over the years, those canned CPU goals. And while I appreciate all the work these modders do with their dbs, I haven't found one yet that eliminates that nonsense. That's why I'm experimenting with a test roster with ratings lowered WAY down. I play on legendary and it's the first time I've actually enjoyed this game from kickoff to conclusion; it never feels like the CPU is cheating with the sort of BS you're describing.

Agreed. That's why I like playing on Pro difficulty. It's challenging enough for me, I play 20 min half and take time to build up, usually games are low scoring. But on pro diff, I don't have good quality AI teammates.

what camera settings(height,zoom) is recommended to control a team in career .. ?i like 'co-op',sometimes 'tele broadcast' .. H0,Z0 ..

Nah, that view makes me sea sick even with lessening the movement sliders, just feels odd to me.

I just play Tele mainly and a zoom level that's enough for countering play and incoming balls, broadcast when watching AI and sometimes dynamic zoomed in when playing be a pro as a defender.
