Do you know whether it was because of the player images or because of the Champions League update?

Okay, does it also get stuck with original mainhubcfg.xml?
In case you don't have it:

Upload to data/ui/layout folder.
If the game loads the menu without trouble, the problem is in the previous mainhubcfg.xml file.

Do you have a modified database? Because with a modified database career mode will not work unfortunately.
