2 different names

Since I have two gamepads with the same name connected to my "pc" how can I rename them with 2 different names???

Is it possible??? because if it is possible I would like to configure different in-game controlls to each one...

Both of my Pads work properly in the game but I can´t change the configuration of the buttons.
I have already looked, and both of my Pads appear unter /Fifa2005/Data/System/config.dat:

"Logitech WingMan Cordless Gamepad USB" 10 "Logitech WingMan Cordless Gamepad USB" 10 1 2 3 4 5 8 7 10 9 6

"Logitech DualAction USB" 10 "Logitech DualAction" 10 1 2 3 5 4 6 7 8 10 9

They also Appear under MyDocuments/Fifa2005/config.dat in the right way f.e. YES "Logitech WingMan Cordless Gamepad USB" !?

They look like that in SystemSettings:

I can play but in the game, in the options menu for configuration I just get shown Keyboard and MS Multimedia Keyboard angezeigt..not even one of my pads

I read a lot of threads already and my pads are both even mentioned in the manual. I tried with logitech drivers and even without but no change.

I even changed the names of the pad later on in the registry so that they match the exact name in the first config.dat but nothing changed

I can play with the from EA assigned buttons, but I cannot change anything of the mapping...

Until now I could not succeed getting L2 and R2 to work. I can´t remap the buttons at all and I have to play all the time with the original mapping of EA.

Both of my Pads work properly in the game but I can´t change the configuration of the buttons.
I have already looked, and both of my Pads appear unter /Fifa2005/Data/System/config.dat:

I have already tried to change the numbers 4 and 7 in order to use L1 as modificator and X for OTB

"Logitech WingMan Cordless Gamepad USB" 10 "Logitech WingMan Cordless Gamepad USB" 10 1 2 3 7 5 8 4 10 9 6

"Logitech DualAction USB" 10 "Logitech DualAction" 10 1 2 3 5 7 6 4 8 10 9

but nothing did change...

Re: Where can I find drivers/sofware for USB Controller?

I am trying to use my PS and PS2 controllers.

They kind of work and are listed as Dual PSX-USB Adaptor.

Adaptor can be found here:
http://www.play.com/play247.asp?pa=stts3&page=title&r=PC&title=114167

The problems are

1) The dualshock is constantly buzzing as soon as Fifa 2005 is launched. And

2) Both Controller 1 and 2 must be connected or the menu just keeps on scrolling.

If anyone has a similar device to the above do they know any links to drivers or third party software?

If so please post

Thanks

I am not sure which adapter you are using but my SmartJoy works.

1.) Not sure how to stop this. Maybe in the driver .ini for you adapter you can turn it off, or in the settings of the game.

2.) Is analog turned on? My guess is that your analog stick is not calibrated or worn out.

Hi! I use PS pad with convertor. In PES3 PC I'm able to use D-Pad and the sticks at the same time. But in Fifa2005 when i run analog mode I can't use D-Pad. Any solution to use analog stick and D-Pad simultaneously?

mysterious gamepad

I got a Nostromo n45 dual gamepad but doesn´t worked well in 2004, It broke when I started to play gameboy emulation:crazyboy: now for fifa05 I have a wingman Precision with 6 buttons and isn´t enough If someone tried the n45 I would like to know if it works or a Genius gamepad I´ve seen, if not, probably will get the wingman dual pad that uses everyone because the first touch is very difficult in the keyboard for an aging guy like me :mrpimp: (36)
the game is much better than 2004 but the sountrack not some latin music was unnecessarily remixed

I found a solution but it should only work for pads that are supported by the game:

I changed the name of my pad (via registry key mentioned in this thread) to the Logitech Dual Action (USB) and uninstalled the game.
I reinstalled again and I was able to map the buttons properly in the game. The right stick was messed up so I renamed the pad again to the exact name menioned in the config.dat for my Thrustmaster Dual Analog and now everything works perfect.

If I didn't uninstall the game (I gave up) and reinstall it later I wouldn't have solved the problem just by changing the registry. It's apparently necessary to reinstall the game (in my case at least).

I hope this helps since EA is unwilling to do so.

hey,

I had been having the same problem with my Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual Analogue 3 and had been trying loads of things to get the configuration available in the game settings and the right 'skills' analogue stick to work....

and then i worked out how to do this....

ok

simply find your controller in this directory in regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM

then rename it to one of the pads supported in the read me

for example mine is a ps2 pad so i renamed

I couldn't figure out how to get to the registry bits but then found out that you go to Start / type 'Run' /type 'Reg' and then you can browse to the folders mentioned above. I then found the OEM names that listed my current controller, and then renamed them to match the Thrustmaster Firestorm descriptions on the games config.dat file.

Tried again and hurrah...! I can now configure my Thrustmaster Firestorm and use the skills stick.... sweet!

Thanks for your help.
