EA SPORTS have passed on the following info for those of you who are having trouble playing FIFA 2004 PS2 online.

If you are having problems connecting to other players and your PlayStation®2 is behind a firewall you will need to open up the communication ports that FIFA Football 2004 uses.

FIFA Football 2004 uses the following UDP communication ports:
UDP port 3658 - peer to peer connection
UDP port 6000 - VOIP (EA SPORTS(TM) Talk)

Go into your firewall software or router screen and manually set those ports to be open. If you're not behind a firewall (software or router) you don't need to do it.

The firewall is either the software firewall in your PC or the hardware router. In your case, may be you don't have the hardware router. Then it must be the software firewall in your XP..

FIFA problems

Hey...I'm new here...so hopefully this will happen correctly. Anyway, I'm a little ticked off about this game at the moment. I just finished a fourth season with Ajax. I have fulfilled every bit of my contract the last 2 seasons and my prestige points and my budget have not gone up. It told me after the last season that my points would be going up to 13000 but it remained at 6000. My purchasing budget has stayed the same for a few seasons as well. Also, when you play in a champion's league leg, if you're away and you win, it lists it as a loss on the fixtures calender. What's up with that? Has anyone figured out how to unlock anything at all?

I can play syphon filter and hardware online arena.. but fifa 2004 seems to be not working, it says something about opening udp ports :

FIFA Football 2004 uses the following UDP communication ports:
UDP port 3658 - peer to peer connection
UDP port 6000 - VOIP (EA SPORTS(TM) Talk)

The problem is I've played it once online .. (earlier tonight) .. was slow but playable..
i can play the other games online on ps2, but not this, what gets me is that I could play it earlier tonight, for one game

I've reset the modem, turned it off from power etc.

I have a billion 5100 modem/router 4 port switch
How would i know if the above ports are open?
I believe there is no firewall which is affecting the modem

any ideas?
