FIFA 2004 Controls

Hi, i was wondering...is FIFA 2004 like only compatible with the Logitech Dual Action pad which it reccomends in the manual. I bought a pad before xmas as i knew my nan got it as a little thing...i downloaded the patch which enables you to edit controls..but i cannot even change from keyboard at the top of the screen. I can play the game with my pad....but with the most awkward controls ever..for instance...none of my buttons are assigned to pass.

Please help!!:crazyboy:
