Fifa 2004 and two gamepads?

I bought Fifa 2004 yesterday. I didn't want to spend much money on a soccer game so the cheap version was perfect.

Then none of my two gamepads worked. I coulnd't change the buttons. I searched on the internet and finally found this forum. So I stumbled upon the solution that I should rename my unsupported gamepad to DualAction... so that Fifa recognizes it.

Well...one gamepad then worked but not two. How can I get BOTH gamepads to work?

I have a Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual Analog 3 and a Saitek Impact Dual Analog. The problem is that both are just called "USB Game Controllers" in the registry. I replaced the name with the DualAction-stuff...then I had two Dualaction-pads. But I can only change the buttons of ONE gamepad. When I reassign the buttons of the first gamepad, switch to the second gamepad and click on the buttons I want to change, an error occurs. All fields are suddenly empty...and after a few seconds the default buttons reappear. I tried configuring the buttons a few times but I can only do this for one gamepad. Either the first OR the second gamepad works...as soon as I want to change the buttons of the second gamepad they are reset to default.

Any ideas?

Maybe it would help if I used two different virtual gamepads, e.g. DualAction and another one. But the problem is that BOTH my gamepads are called USB Game Controllers and so I don't know how to get both to work (that I can change the buttons). And I can't edit the config.dat as changing the buttons of the second gamepad would also affect the first gamepad's buttons...as they have the same name in the registry.

Yeah, it works. Now both gamepads work. :)

I simply renamed one gamepad to Logitech cordless rumblepad-stuff and now I have two officially supported gamepads although both are fake. :)
