FIFA 18 Career Mode Patch (Frosty Mod)

I've created a mod following a tutorial step by step and it doesn't work unfortunaly nor it applies to the game

So it looks like your PC needs Net Framework updated and/or whatever Frosty requires to run. List of required updates should be in the Frosty documentation I would think, I don't know.

Do a search, type 'frosty,' and click 'search titles only.' 20 threads come up, including threads on fixing mod manager issues. Answers might be in there.

follow bangus reply and be sure to have applied also the fix for FMM (follow the readme inside), but i'm pretty sure that you've already done that

Have you run your mod with frosty editor or with frosty manager? have you tried both?

I select the mod and launch it successfully using FMM, however, it doesn't change anything in game. Just to check if it works I ended the season with 360 million Euros as FC Barcelona however, start of the next season, all my budget disappeared and got reset to 150 million Euros.

Edit: It would be nice if this mod had a unique loading screen to ensure the user that it has been activated. The only way for me to check if the mod is working is if I sim the entire season and reload the next season only to find out that it does not transfer 100% of the budget as claimed. I believe the claim to be true, just think the mod is not working for me for some reason, even though it when I launch it through FMM there is no error message or anything and the game launches.

Actually I realised I have the same problem as Phrek here. I follow all the steps of the guide, the game launches with FMM, but no actual effect in-game from the mod. I am sure my setup of FMM is correct cause other mods work fine.

Actually .... again I discovered the issue and might be able to help you as well Phrek. Follow these steps:

1. Uninstall all Mod(s).
2. Delete ModData Folder in your Fifa directory.
3. Download the 26th March Mod (NOT THE LATEST ONE).
4. Apply and run the 26th March Mod using Frosty Mod Manager.
5. Check Basic Penalties and you should see Sprint Speed and Acceleration unlocked.
6. Enjoy

Optional:

7. Download FIP latest version.
8. Apply and run FIP and 26th March Mod.
9. Double Enjoy!

Is FIP fully functional for you with Gem's career patch? For me it only seems to slightly work. A few adboards, tournament names, and the boots load but things like animated adboards and the champions league logo aren't showing up. Better than nothing but I'd still like the full FIP experience.

Nope not fully function but as you said something is better than nothing.

Yeah not sure why they are conflicting with FIFA Infinity Patch. FIFA Infinity Team needs to merge my patch with theirs for it to work. I don't think I can do anything from my end.

Weird that I had tried that already but with FMM 1.0.4 and it didn't work, now I decided to try with FMM 1.0.3 and it worked, cheers mate

Would it be possible to combine the 26th of March version and FIP using Frosty Editor into one mod to see if they conflict then? Or have you already done that? It's annoying because the FIP never respond to issues and it doesn't seem as if they're willing to cooperate.

I have done that already. I need permission from FIFA Infinity Team to get a merged version of my mod and their mod to release it.

I am getting sick of this game now. After installing the latest version of this mod the game was finally competitive and truly excellent. In career mode I was in the championship. I got promoted to the premiership via the play offs and the game for no apparant reason has reverted back to being totally boring and one sided. I really thought the game was going to be fin ally good for a sustained period.
I have deleted and reinstalled this mod and still the game is way too easy. The cpu just doesnt score, doesnt attack etc.
Its becoming a waste of time playing the game. Tomorrow its the world cup update and im not optimistic. Obviously it will look stunning but thats a waste of time if the game is too easy and the cpu is inept.
I have no idea what to do anymore to make the game a challenge over a sustained period.
Its so frustrating

I have the same problem. The game becomes so easy sometimes that I can beat the best clubs 4-0, 5-0.

I agree, but that is something that plagues every fifa title. Come release the game is moderately difficult but then becomes too easy within weeks. This is because end of the day, the gameplay is just a redressing. They haven't actually changed the physics. The game is too arcadey. If they make it more like a simulation, it becomes challenging. First touch errors, referee errors, pass errors, shot errors, these never happen in the game. As Barcelona, I can beat Real Madrid 10-0 on legendary in a 5 min halves. Tiki taka is too easy as it is so easily to keep the ping pong permanently going.

All of that can easily be made to happen in the game with just a few slider tweaks. Even more so when one edits the db. FIFA 18 can be changed from arcadey to an exceptional football game, it just takes a bit of effort. The sliders alone can fix every one of those issues.

If you win 10-0 on legendary and are ping-ping passing with impunity, it's because you're using assisted controls. Play using manual controls. Lower CPU shot/pass/first touch error to 10 and raise User shot/pass/first touch error to 90. Raise CPU speed/accel sliders 10 points above yours. Etc. No more 10-zip games.

Yeah I have fixed almost everything with sliders and gameplay patch except for the weak cpu attacking, hardcore playstyles and non-fluid dribbling.

In my opposing opinion, the CPU attack coding is too strong and one-dimensional. They always grab the ball and just run up the pitch at max speed. I fixed that in the db by lowering team build up speed, and changing players' work rates to low attack, high defend. Maybe do the opposite if you want more attacking, and also raise all players' long shots rating.

Similar issue happened also to me, to fix usually i run a clean version with Frosty Editor (restoring original local.ini) then I play some friendly match/start a new career/edit speed&acceleration slider and looking for a scripted match . Usually that solve the broken gameplay (at least for me)
Btw this not always work, but in a weird manner the day after this is gone.

Out of desperation i tried PES last week. OMG it makes fifa 18 look like a simulation. I was shocked how poor the gameplay in PES is. The goalies are a joke. Sadly fifa ia the best we have at present. Fifa 17 was a excellent game. EA have really messed up 18.
However, i have imstalled the world cup update. I used the same mod and edited locale.ini and it was much better. Yes i have only played one game and as we know the gameplay change in an instant.
EA will never admit there problems with the coding. They absolutely never do that. The accept bug and correct them but when it comes to ai and any problems then forget EA even acknowledging it.
The are exactly the same with every game they bring out.
I never know what i am going to getb with fifa 18 when i start the game. The worst part is that if i beat a top team im never quite sure if its me who has won or if the cpu has let me win. It takes away the thrill.
and yet i come back just about every day and play!!
