my fifa didnt come with a .db file and when i add the file provided .db and .xml and the front end and startup.bh files its still not opening with any changed settings. am i missing a final step?'

When you open your FIFA folder with File Master do you get an application error? If so, that is why you don't see any changes in the game and in that case I suggest you download a clean copy of FIFA again and reapply malloc84's files, that's how I fixed it a few days ago.

Thanks malloc84 and NaFer, I ran into some trouble because for some reason after I pasted your files the game wouldn't even recognize my database and File Master gave me an error when opening the FIFA 16 folder, but after a clean install (yes, I had been meddling with game files before that ) it's all working like a charm.

The two files in the first post on this thread are the db files. Create a folder named db and place those two files inside. That is your db folder. Place it inside the data folder in your main FIFA 16 folder.

To edit the db, open it using rinaldo's DBM program. What I do is I use the DBM export feature to export all tables into a separate folder on my desktop. All the exported tables can then be edited using Excel or OpenOffice. To edit game settings, you need to open the fifagamesettings table with Excel, then edit, save and import the tables back into the db. The edited db does not have to be regenerated each time, your edits will still show up in-game.

i also deleted the fifa 16 documents folder when i did the clean install

When you first add the db folder to your game, you have to regenerate the files in order for the game to read them. Use rinaldo's FM 15 tool to load the FIFA files (search and highlight your FIFA 16 DEMO folder) then hit the regenerate button. Takes just a few seconds. After that, any edits to your db do not require regenerating.

The one in red, mate. You have to click on Browse and select it.
If you don't get an application error when you select it, then just Regenerate Bh and you should be OK. You're welcome btw.

EDIT: Allready found it under FIFA14 File Master. In FM I cannot regenerate.

Reading the thread is hard.

The FIX for FIFA 16 NOT ACCEPTING the DB is on the first page, first post said in BOLD.

Download the package which contains default database and fix. Then just copy regenerated .bh files AND folder\file data\ui\nav\dbverificationflow.nav into your FIFA 16 dir.
You don't have to copy the database and .xml because they are default. Just .bh files and "ui" folder with the codefixed file.

Then FIFA 16 Demo will accept modified databases and there will be no errors.

Has anyone had any luck modding the database to get the new weather conditions in FIFA 16? ie. hazy, partly cloudy, foggy, random variable rain showers and variable flurries.

Most settings can be changed in fifagamesettings and saved to the db (difficulty, sliders, etc). But you have to manually set your controller settings each time you start the game up (manual, semi-auto), those can't be saved.

ya i know i can change the setting manually through the db but that's not really what i was asking. good to know i have to switch to alternate controls every time though. thanks for the response.

also it would be very useful to somehow be able to change or save the manual, semi-auto and auto controls.

db edit instructions have been discussed many times, just do a search. If you're editing the db and come up against a specific issue you can't resolve, then ask, someone will be glad to help.

What you seem to want is someone to explain the basics on how to edit because you don't want to be bothered reading the threads yourself.

Anyway, most of any information you need has already been explained in this thread, you don't even have to do a search.

Sorry, but in my case, it's not like you say. I'm currently using DBM and i'have open Fifa_demo_db.db.
I'd like to modify the table "players" that contains players stats. I know i can export i to excel and modding it easily. But once exported i'm unable to link this table to players names, team name and so on....
Therefore i do not know which player i'm modding, because i see only playerid and NOT his name or his team..
Sorry for my English but it's not my native language,
I hope I have explained my problem anyway.
