FIFA 16 crowd rx3 and textures

In FIFA 16 the crowd model and textures coupling is quite complicated if someone wants to edit them...

I have discovered many things and also prepared a detailed analysis of the rx3 models system and how to get one or another ..(it involves lua files and also crowd dat files..weather and so on).. but I have still problems to understand the texture system..

It seems that a single rx3 model has more UVmaps related to different textures files. Opening texture files it seems that only parts of it are shown.. clothes and transparent..but in the texture file there are also head face and body ..In Blender removing the option to show alpha I can see them and it is still not clear from where the system takes the color or decides how to dress single characters..

I open this thread for eveybody to discuss and share info about the model/texture system of FIFA 16

What I am trying to do is to have classic crowd with proper dresses. I already did a lot changing the lua files... avoiding any modern clothes and working on team colors setting all grey so they dress in generic non brilliant color shirts and dark long trousers.. but I want more... like this that is a 3d model created by someone but sold at 350 US$..

Unfortunately I don’t know mate, with what lua settings you made the crowd more in dark clothes ?

to try to have a more neutral grey crowd... for classic (until now I am working until 1962 .. In 1970 already there were colored team t shirts)

1. my crowd in my stadiums are all pop home (neutral in 14)

2. In lua file crowd.lua I set to choose only the option winter changing the weather and cold options to avoid shorts...

3. In lua file I modify what set of textures must be choosen. Unfortunately only men because it is a little complicated (but can be done) to assign skirts to women instead of trousers.. but maybe I found a way to do it..

4. In CM16 I set grey grey grey for the color of the teams...

5. No flags. No banners

But I want more... I want to change the model to add a hat to some character... (I have completely changed photographers and police so I can do it) and I want to have proper textures..

But of course all the changes in crowd lua are for every tournament... I use single patches per tournament anyway.

On a related note, I've been looking for a couple of years to find a way to disable crowd kits. I'd like to have crowds where they're all wearing random generic clothing with no kits. It's easy to do this for home supporters, because they have a type that don't wear kits by default. You can just edit the crowd placement to make all the home supporters that type.

But, for away supporters, both types are coded to wear kits by default and I've never figured it out a way to change that.

There are many different ways to solve this....

1. do you actually need away crowd...? otherwise just set crowd_distribution = 1 in cl.ini and you will have a neutral crowd ... and you will no see team kits

2. using Rev Mod you can create crowdkit files bypassing the team kit... for example you can let them wear a white t-shirt or gray.,..or what you want... this works for home and also for away.. Check RevMod documentation

3. Working on crowd.lua in fifarna but many times... it makes crash if you don't edit the file carefully. The instruction to assign kit to away crowd is there.

4. Changing the crowd (you need to edit the dat file with blender) assigning dead away to all the away crowd.. or assigning all to home

update...

I found the way to change the model or interchange it with a different model... already included... but whatever I do with the textures (that are a big mess) it changes also face and body textures even if I dopn't touch them... the texture system for crowd is not direct as you could imagine from numbers in the files... while the system for model it is easy

For a visuAL quick reference model map see here

I want a crowd that has both home/away supporters, but no one wearing kits.

Rev Mod doesn't provide a real solution to this. It doesn't disable crowd kits, it just lets you replace the default kit with something else. You'll still have blocks of supporters all wearing an identical shirt texture.

I've looked for a solution in crowd.lua, but I'm not skilled enough with lua files to figure out how to do it without crashing the game.

So the only option seems to be to set the crowd in stadium at lesser level.. maybe for a mistake in the exporter seems to me that folk home has more ultras (ultras are the ones wearing kits) than pop home..

So the best setting to see a limited number of people wearing the same kit..that you can change with the crowdkit file is to set popohome and deadaway or as I said use neutral (no kits at all) with the cl.ini line

I can manage lua files but the crowd.lua.. is a big mess and it accepts limited changes.. Until now working only on classic patch on world cups I never felt the need for a real home and away section.

An acceptable solution to me would be to just fill a stadium with true "neutral" fans that don't have cheering animations for either side. But, I don't think FIFA 16 actually has those. All fans are either home or away. I've never found a way to have fans that have no reaction animations.

You cannot set crowd as neutral with Blender but you can have neutral crowd (and no kits) as I told you with a simple line in cl.ini

CROWD_DISTRIBUTION = 1

And they have cheering animation anyway

Anyway it is also possible to works on crowd reaction in audio (changing some audio file) and video (working with the code, but I never did that)

The first step for every project is to have well clear what you want to achieve...

I'm aware of the crowd_distribution function and have used it many times. This isn't my first rodeo.

It does not completely eliminate crowd kits. And, as I described, it also does not impact cheering animations, so it's does not provide the solutions I'm looking for.

I know exactly what I want to achieve, I've just never found a way to be able to do it.

I've also done extensive work on editing crowd audio reactions. I have several different working versions of crowd audio files that I use for various purposes.

do you know how to disable scarf and flag from fifa 14?
I have disabled the crowd but flags an scarves still pops-up.

In FIFA 16 you can disable scarves with a line in cl.ini

DISABLE_SCARVES = 1

I don't know if it works also in 14..maybe it does

About flags.. I never seen them in game and I don't remember if I did something to achieve that...

about banners.. I use mainly stadiums created by me without banners

For the flags.. scouser shared a kind of file that you had to past in the main fifa 16 folder. I’m not sure which one it was but it was shared some years ago I think.
