the proposed "new features" are nothing but a gimmick to pull you into buying the newest installment of the series.

the features have been in the game before then removed and added again under a new name.

graphics are always a plus but only if you are adding them onto an already sound game.

if you are selling a game, FIFA in this case being a footy game, the actual game should be more realistic than the face on a player.

if they asked me i'd rather have messi resemble his playing style on the pitch rather than himself look life like in the game.

when i play the game and i see the opposition across the half line i want to say to myself, oh shit arsenal are starting walcott and miyaichi i had better play conservatively
looking to not give up any counter attacks.

it is much more important that players play realistically rather than look real.

the most important aspect of any game should be the gameplay, if the game looks great but plays like shit who is going to play the game ?

Well, kids get very excited when they see new graphics features included in FIFA. "oh, look, this game have ball-boy, kits get dirty, 3D grass, Pirlo has beard... it's the best game ever". And that's it. EA know who buy their product the most and how to "ignite" them for their new game. Year after year.

I'm one of the bally boy faction fan boys *rofl*
However I am complete different from all of you here. For me, it's not understandable how they still offer that cartoonish graphics. In Fifa games a kit will probably never looks like a kit in real. Animations will always be too fast and players to bulky. Atmosphere and direction will never be like in tv (they tell us it it, but for someone who watches football regularly it definitely isn't)
And also I am with the people who want a simulation football game. Teams passing the ball in both directions, Players holding the ball and looking around for options and stuff like that.
There should be an arcade and a professional game mode.

If graphics are your thing, these games should be photo-realistic by now. That's what I don't understand. I can see why people are interested in improved graphics. But these games haven't even improved graphically all that much. EA just adds some crowd animations, distance stadium shots and fireworks, and gamers oooh and ahhh like this is some great leap in sports game development. Bah.

People here arguing over which cartoon faces are better, PES or FIFA. Who cares, they ALL look like cartoons. These faces should be photo-realistic by now. And animations should be mo-capped to the point where all transition animations are 100% seemless; the game in motion should look like real life. But what do we get? Cartoon faces, cartoon body models, cartoon animations, cartoon player collision physics, cartoon crowds...

EA is a multi-billion dollar corporation. Corporations like EA become multi-billion dollar entities by making business decisions based on one thing: the financial bottom line. EA cornered the market on American and European football gaming by buying licenses. They know they can now sell 25 million games every year, regardless of the quality, because gamers want licences, real kits, real stadiums, etc. They don't have to put a single dollar into gameplay development or even updating the graphics.

EA's business plan is clear and has been for a decade with both FIFA and Madden: update the graphics minimally; add a useless new feature now and then like a team tactics editor that's limited to 28 slots; and spend the majority of their game development focus on money-making online modes and DLC content, in order to make even more money. FIFA isn't a cash cow, it's a cash pig.

this is all pointless back and forth, we all know what we will get in the end.

those who like graphics will win and those who prefer gameplay will lose.

i am 99% sure FIFA 14 will be the last FIFA game i will spend any of my time or money on.

I don't think those who likes graphics will win. Graphics of FIFA 15 is not that impressive. And about gameplay I don't know how it will be, but it won't be much different from FIFA 14.

It's supposed to be high res so you can view stuff at it's max detail, wtf is the point on reducing them? Suit yourselves if you don't want to. You want to play smartasses then go fuck yourselves.

Well let's look at this logically. You could post the reduced screens so that everyone can see them. And for the few who care, also provide a link to download the hi-rez versions. But it sounds like posting wtf, smartasses and fuck yourself insults is more important to you than posting the screens. Oh well.
