Next year will be FIFA 14's 10-year anniversary.

This thread is dedicated to showcasing FIFA 14 as it should have released back in 2013.
Last time season 2013-14 received an update was in Moddingway's May 2014 update. Since then, thousands of quality faces and hundreds of stadiums have been converted for FIFA 14 but they were never added to season 2013-14.

Full credit to all the awesome modders over the years.
My current goal is to add as much quality stuff to season 2013-14 as possible without adding any extra teams/leagues/tournaments/anything unnecessary.

Some comparison screenshots. FIFA 14 on release day and now:











The recipe is basically all EA facepacks by @Dmitri + Fifa Online facepacks by @tokke001 and @Skoczek + all stadiums from FIP by @Harry BullZak and thousands of custom faces, tattoos, banners, etc. collected/made over the years.

Couple of questions for the community:
1. anyone remembers how to fix the "generic white-and-black" bug introduced by official EA squad updates?
2. anyone got a tutorial on how to add all stadiums (done) and stadiumlinks (game crashes) from FIP DB for all teams in default FIFA 14 DB?

Exactly :D Been so stuck in either super classic 2000s or modern patches, now FIFA 14 remastered feels like a huge semi-classic patch of its own.

Having teams like West Ham with Kevin Nolan play at Upton Park, Crystal palace with Cabaye at Selhurst Park with more than zero real faces feels so fresh.

But the state of EA games at release never ceased to amaze me:

Found the solution. Who would've thought. @Harry BullZak from 2014 to the rescue.
Step 3 - Fixing boots
  • This one you can do directly in DB Master. It doesn't take long.
  • Under the heading 'isembargoed' change any boot that has a 1 to a 0
  • Save
  • Done
No more black-and-white boots for Messi (EA BS strikes again).

okay you are not able to add world cup teams but you are able to add real faces and kits to unlicensed teams, right?
and if i make a theme for your mod, will u add it?

Wow, nice project...It is a perfect idea...

Dont add any new teams or competitions or something like that...Just update the graphics (faces, if you find better kits for that season, scoreboard), add kits to unlicenced teams and FIFA 15-22 faces to players who had generic faces in FIFA 14 but in newer versions had scanned faces...

If some players had different haircut in 2014 add their new haircut...For example if Messi had long hair in 2014 and his newer versions are with short hair add the short hair.... Except Fernando Torres because i loved his haircut (longer hair) in 2014 :d

okay you are not able to add world cup teams but you are able to add real faces and kits to unlicensed teams, right?
Yes, all unlicensed logos/kits will be replaced by licensed ones.

and if i make a theme for your mod, will u add it?
As an optional download, sure! Everyone is free to dress up their game as much as they like with additional stuff.
My main goal, as I said, is just to release the necessary stuff to make F14 look as it should have. All extras can be installed to everyone's personal liking :)

I prefer to go with the 2013-14 season aesthetics for everything (everything I care about).

But as I said above, the faces can and will be obtained from the Dmitri packs separately.
So everyone can use whatever they like.


My ultimate goal with this is to try and turn this into a Alternative History Career Mode
Hello everybody.
First of all, this is just an idea of a mod I've had on my mind for a very long time.
Decided to share it to maybe find other people interested in such a mod or just hear opinions.
Maybe someone becomes interested enough to collaborate in creating it either for FIFA16 or FIFA14 (the two most modded titles, it seems).

Personally for me the biggest drawback of every fifa's Career Mode has always been the fact that nothing changes season after season graphics wise (all kits, balls, boots etc stay the same).
The idea of this mod is to create an authentic and at the same time alternative history career mod.

Ideally it could span for as long as 10 years, starting with the earliest FIFA where most files are somewhat compatible (FIFA11) and having such features as kit overlays for promotion, relegation and European cups.
That would mean converting 11's DB and making sure it works in FIFA14/16. If DBs can't be properly converted to fit career mode, then the next best thing would be starting with FIFA14/16 default squads.

Over the years there's been a lot of mods and patches made, so it should be somewhat possible to compile graphic packs for each season (kits, balls, adboards, boots etc - everything that doesn't crash career mode progress, luckily a lot of changes can be made with RM).

So, in simple terms, we start the career journey with FIFA11's converted DB and FIFA11's graphics folder renamed as "sceneassets" (important note: all stadiums should be installed from the start). When the 10/11 season ends, we quit the game and rename this folder to "sceneassets 10/11" and then rename the folder "sceneassets 11/12" to "sceneassets", so when we load up the game, all 11/12 graphics are activated.
With FIFA14 that would be even easier as we can sort all the files by folders with Jenkey's File Loader and swap them on the go (not sure about FIFA16 modding capabilities these days).

Of course this sounds like a very ambitious project, so probably realistic goals would need to be set depending on how many people can collaborate together (maybe for starters top 6 European leagues only, or first two seasons only, as any update would not affect the career progress, potentially we could be preparing season after season).

Maybe some players would need to be added due to very young age (and they would be a bit older too) like Mbappe, Rashford or Martial in a FIFA11 database.

I believe potentially this could be a very fun mod as you'd be able to relive the history of football in the last 10 years, trying to replicate your team's path or have an alternative reality, sign Neymar to West Ham early on or convince Beckham to come back to Man Utd in 2011, get your favorite team promoted from division B in 2016 and win the Champions League in Istanbul 2020 with true-to-history graphics and fresh feeling every season.

Once again it's just an idea but it looks like a fun and somewhat possible one, if any of you guys get interested. And again, it can be done either for FIFA14 or 16, so if you don't mind I'll just tag people whose opinions I'd love to hear on this.

So you start your career in 2013-14, new season comes, new kits/boots/balls/adboards appear, and you continue your journey in authentic graphics up to 2022 or however far we can continue doing seasonal mods for F14.

White Hart Lane will be overwritten with Tottenham Stadium in 2019, Estadio Vicente Calderon with Wanda Metropolitano in 2017, Stadion Petrovsky with Gazprom Arena in 2017 and cozy pld school Upton Park with London Olympic Stadium in 2016 ;)

Alternative History Career mode is amazing idea :)

but this implies some things like adding with 2013-14 rosters :

- all Rest of world clubs that took part at UCL and EL until now, so that they can qualify in the next seasons.
- all missing National teams that were part of majour tournament until now.
- at a best idea: adding all teams that were not in the leagues for promotion somewhere who were promoted during last seasons (adding hidden groups for promotion-relegation during interseason?).
- for me, adding some leagues 13-14 that were not in vanilla fifa 14: Greece, Turkey, Romania and Czech Republic.

Well, just because Sheriff Tiraspol qualified to UCL irl, that doesn't mean they have to qualify in alternative history too :)

I am cerainly not against adding leagues like Greece, Turkey, Romania, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Belarus and even China for uniqueness and money hungry players' sake, but:
a) this means a lot of additional kits, logos, adboards etc to add from 2013-14 with subsequent bugs and errors
b) with my personal set of skills I can't guarantee Career Mode wouldn't randomly crash with some random Romanian team in 2020
c) all those teams would preferably need to have content available for them in MWM/FIP 14-15, 15-16,.. 21-22 otherwise they'd have old graphics and defeat the purpose of the AHCM
d) but yeah maybe after F14 Vanilla Remaster is fully up and running, F14 Moddingway Mod 13-14 could potentially be used as a base for AHCM Extended

Teams like Croatia would probably need to be added, yes.
Hope nothing crashes.

You mean like FC Sochi hidden somewhere in 2013-14 but appearing in RPL in 2019-20?
Honestly that sounds like something way outside of my modding abilities and I can't imagine what squad or kits they'd use before they were even created IRL in 2018 :D

Same issue applies to all the star players who appeared after F14: Haaland, Mbappe, Foden, Pedri, Donnarumma, F. De Jong, Joal Felix, Ruben Dias, Vinicius, Havertz, etc - they don't exist in F14 DB and I don't think they can be programmed to be hidden to appear later, or players who played in 2013-14 in teams not present in F14 (like Milan Skriniar in Zilina).
Maybe a compromize would be adding them to their first clubs with the youngest age possible (15 y.o.?) even though e.g. Haaland was 13 and Pedri was 11 in 2013.

But then again we're deciding whether we're keeping F14 player growth potentials (Balotelli 90, Januzai 89, Bakkali 88; Ederson 73, Kante 75, Van Dijk 78, etc.) or whether we update the potentials to F22 values (can we even update just the potentials?).

Dont add any teams or leagues...Just update the graphics... Are you using the file loader for your patch or we will use regenerator....You will release the patch when it will finish or it will has parts...for example release first some stadiums, the kits, the faces, the logos as a patch 1.0 and when you will add more things you will release the version 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc?

v1 will definitely be just the vanilla DB + stadium assignments + unlicensed kits and logos + correct specific fonts.

Everything else will have to be downloaded separately, as stated above: Dmitri facepacks, FO4 facepacks, FIP stadium pack, and any additional graphics anyone might want for themselves.
There's no point to reupload dozens of GBs.

v2 and further might have additional teams/players and/or serve as the platform for Alternative History Career Mode.

Are you using the file loader for your patch or we will use regenerator.
Personally I use File Loader but everyone is free to install mods as they prefer.

I was recently looking up MWM 14 pages and forums, and saw your familiar name in creators list, no doubt you know your stuff :D

Also forgot to mention another idea to accomodate for WC 2014, EU 2016, WC 2018, EU 2020 and WC 2022 within the Alternative History Career Mode:
adding 12 new stadium slots for world cups and naming them "World Cup Venue 1", "World Cup Venue 2", etc. and 11 new stadium slots for Euros, similarly "Euro Venue 1", "Euro Venue 2", etc., assigning them to Career Mode world cup (990) and Euro (euroID) and swapping the folders with rx3s when the corresponding year comes, from Brazil 2014 stadiums to Russia 2018 and so on.

Updated potentials can be done in excell with to separed tables contain the players present in your Fifa 14 base db versus same players present in Fifa 22 last squad update or Fifa 23 first db!!!
