Fifa are lazy, rich thieves, with no love of football
I have always been an ardent iss/pes/we fan since the very first iss on the ps1. I hadn't bothered playing fifa since 1998 as they were always so unplayable/unrealistic/easy. Some friends had told me that they now thought fifa was better than PES which i didn't really believe. The other day i found a copy of fifa 10 in a charity shop, so, out of curiosity i bought it. I was shocked. It was actually playable and not that bad. Obviously, the licences were more thorough, and there were more leagues and teams, which is just an indication of how much more money EA seem to have to throw at these projects than Konami, rather than any endeavour on their part to be rigorous.
The gameplay of the new fifa games has changed immensely since their predecessors, and it has improved beyond measure (although it is still inferior to that of PES in many ways). How have fifa achieved this miracle? By shamelessly and ruthlessly copying the gameplay which Konami have worked and innovated so long to perfect. I honestly can't believe there isn't an intellectual property or patent infringement issue here. Maybe if fifa spent more money on innovating new engine advancements rather than licences, they might have a half decent game of their own, rather than a second-class, stolen imitation of someone else's. BAD FORM EA. Just give up and let Konami have all the licenses, as they will put them to better use than you. Maybe you could re-design their online mode as well?
