shyne, I just posted a new thread on this review as well. I hope it's as good as you think. What score out of 10 would you have given it?
Easily the worst review I have ever read. It's blatantly obvious they aren't good at the game(with added proof being the ridiculous videos they post) which would account for them thinking the gameplay sucks. But seriously, **** you IGN, learn to play a game instead of slating it.

shyne09, say all you want but Winning Eleven owns fifa in terms of gameplay...miles ahead. Even Fifa fans agree. Ask around. Fifa will never ever catch up to PES /WE in terms of gameplay. Quite simply put, Fifa doesn't see gameplay as important.

But I'm in the US so of course I havent played the full game. Unless they do something to ruin the final game, 8.5 to 9 would be my score. I have stayed away from FIFA since 2002 and only played Winning Eleven. So if the career mode is as addicting as some say, perhaps i would go 9.0+ . We'll see. All I know is that if someone told me 6 months ago that i would be playing FIFA i would take off my shoe and smack em.

Errrr............and some old PES fans agree that FIFA 07 on the 360 is better than PES in terms of gameplay so your point is mute IMO. I'm one of them actually. Played PES5/WE9 for almost a year and almost everyday and I find the next-gen game engine EA built to have gameplay miles ahead of what PES is.OrgulloVikingo said:

Deftones, I meant current gen comparisons. But...I love what I'm hearing! I'm so glad to hear WE/PES fans giving Fifa a good review. Shyne gives it 8.5 -9.0 just based on the demo and he's stayed away from Fifa just like I have. I've been dying for Fifa to make a good game for years. I hope to play it soon.
Shyne, I haven't played it. Thought about downloading the demo but thought that would ruin the experience of seeing the new game in it's entirety when it's released. By the way, when does it release in the USA? I hear Oct 31 and Nov. 2 and Oct 27...WTF? Anyone know for sure?

Hmmmm...perhaps you're a fifa fanboy? Although I agree about the scale of the pitch. I think people, when they talk about simulation were meaning gameplay! and lets face it, current gen fifa has nothing on current gen WE/PES. Fifa players(current gen) look like they are ice skating on premeditated rails kicking around a hockey puck disguised as a football.

I agree with most of the things said in the IGN review.. although it would have been nice if it was a more in-depth review. After i played the FIFA 07 demo for 360 my thoughts were:
Great physics and animations, but sluggish player response and lack of a "total control" feel that PES has. The game feels sluggish when your trying to pass, fight for aerial balls or move. And how come they took out some of the good gameplay features that current-gen FIFA 07 had? Being able to josstle for aerial balls and fight for the ball on corners, fake shots, dummies, ability to control how long or short your keeper will throw the ball etc. Thats the problem with EA in general.. they make some good improvments but always seem to take out what works instead of building upon it to make it even better. It's a good ground structure to work on though.
Obviously it's only one review.. but still some of you are acting like it was set in stone that FIFA 07 for 360 was going to be the messiah of football games. Take it from a fellow PES/WE gamer (myself), that "total" control feel PES has, is you holding R1+R2 (super-cancel) 90% of the time you are playing the game. 
Some people here in Aussie had a game for a week already and appears that there are some issues with commentary (pre-empting the game)...
I can also confirm that there is "only" 5 seasons in manager mode which is pretty disappointing. By the time you develop a new player it's game over...

The only thing better about PES is ball physics!!! Thats it. I was playing Pro 5 today and thinking if the next one pes6 is as bad as this i'm definitely not wasting my money.
The response time on PES for the playstation controller is ridiculous. PLayers with 99 technique like Ronaldinho struggle to control the ball in pressure situations..HOW is that?????
PES fan boys need to get off konamis nuts and realise the bigger picture. PES may be better in terms of gameplay but the game is full of many flaws. Its been stangnant since pro 2. There hasnt been major progression like FIFA. How is it that i'm running with Torres and he struggles to beat hyppia for pace and also keep control of the ball it was all over the place. The passing is diabolical you have to actually make sure the man your passing to is ready because the movement is poor.
The game is good and i play on 6 star before some dumb fan boy comes on here saying i'm crap. In master league mode which is way harder on 6 star i beat teams like Arsenal 4-0 and BArca 3-0 so its becoming easy. But the flaws in the game are paramount. Its time to stop being fan boys and just see who has the better game.
