Arsenal will be without midfielder Cesc Fabregas and several other first-team regulars for Wednesday's Champions League qualifier against FC Twente.
Fabregas, Kolo Toure, Abou Diaby, Tomas Rosicky, Philippe Senderos, Eduardo and new signing Samri Nasri are all absent.
Arsene Wenger will forced to field a young side including 20-year-old Denilson and 21-year-old Johan Djourou.
Wales U-21 international Aaron Ramsey, who has impressed since his summer move from Cardiff, could make his debut.
Wenger said he did not have any qualms about sending out youngsters onto such a big stage, provided they were protected from unrealistic levels of hype.
"If you play against your friends on the beach or in a big game it's exactly the same - if you are a good player you are a good player," he said.
"In England we have always to calm things down because after one month of games there is always the media pressure to make quick stars.
"Players are young and patient development does not mean you cannot start early - but it is most important to keep developing as a player and that you don't have to worry about too much pressure on your shoulders."
Arsenal (from): Almunia, Fabianski, Sagna, Gallas, Clichy, Hoyte, Djourou, Ramsey, Wilshere, Gibbs, Denilson, Walcott, Eboue, Randall, Adebayor, Van Persie, Bendtner, Vela.
Likely Starting Line Up
Almunia
Sagna, Gallas, Djourou, Clichy
Eboue, Ramsey, Denilson, Walcott
Ade, Van Persie
Im Not sure about FC Twente.
We are really short in the midfield but that side should be able to do the job. Djourou should be fine at Centre Back and Denilson has been in good form in the preseason.
