Pretty much yeah. Last season his stamina and the immense ground he was able to cover made him a regular starter, but his passing has always been quite erroneous. This season he can't run for shit, looks tired and numb. A rest will do him well for sure.

What a great CL win tonight against Chelsea. The Dragão was absolutely boiling!

Imbula starting to show why we paid serious money for him...what an animal (Y)

First post updated with fixtures, results, tranfers, goal/assist count etc....considering how bad this season has been for us, that was extra painful to do.

So Lopetegui sacked with just one loss... are the directives getting trigger happy or was this justified?

Julen's credits among the supporters were getting shorter by the day and truth is our football became dull and duller under his helm, and since there were no good results to show for and the team didn't improve he had to get the sack.

Mind that results-wise the change of coach didn't exactly work wonders (far from it) at least we are playing with some heart and will. Injuries have been blowing our defense apart since January (we even had to start Layún at CB ffs) so we are conceding goals in practically every game but the team is showing that they want things to get better and are trying to honour the shirt...

I thought the choice for Peseiro as the new coach was a really bad idea but for now I am ok with giving him the benefit of the doubt since he basically took over a physically and psychologically depleted side and was able to make us play some football again.

Only good thing this whole season was that we beat Benfica home and away which serves as a small consolation prize :(

Final goal/assist table after an absolutely disastrous season:

Layún 6/18
Aboubakar 18/3
Brahimi 8/5
Jesus fucking Corona 8/4
Herrera 8/2
Maxi Pereira 0/10
André André 6/3
Danilo 5/3
Sérgio Oliveira 3/3
André Silva 3/2
Varela 3/1
Tello 2/2
Suk 2/2
Maicon 3/0
Bueno 2/1
Marcano 2/1
Osvaldo 1/1
Rúben Neves 1/1
Imbula 0/2
Chidozie 1/0
Marega 1/0
Evandro 1/0
Alex Sandro 0/1
José Ángel 0/1
Martins Indi 0/1

A left-back being our most productive player of the season says it all really.

José Peseiro was sacked today and Nuno Espírito Santo is expected to be our next coach.
Not exactly exciting news but at least he's a man of the house we will surely be aware of how demanding this job is. That's the basics we need for a brand new start, a coach that is familiar with the high expectations that surround this club every single season. Let's see how this goes...

Layún was almost too good for this team. Those numbers went way over his own expectations like he admitted...I surely didn't think he'd be this good either.

We have activated his buying clause from Watford a few days ago, €6M is a fucking bargain in the end.

Unreal season for Layun, and disappointing stats for Tecatito. But I'm sure they'll be much better once Brahimi gets shipped out for a boatload of money.

Brahimi must go, really selfish player with little end product. No matter how skilled he is, how wonderful some his moves and goals are, it simply isn't enough because he ends up working very little for the team. His dribbling is sick but he exagerates and turns the ball over way too much. This is the kind of player we don't need at the moment, unless he changes his game like from day to night.

Corona's numbers are short for what he can do, but the talent is undeniable. I really fancy him to explode next season, but he needs a good coach behind him...I hope everything gets better for him and the whole team.

Because they played him out of position and was average for them. Porto, like always, pounced on the opportunity, played him in his natural position and he flourished.

Yes (H) Draft Master Bobby

Yeah I don't think they realized how productive he could be playing where he feels confortable the most. Truth be told he's not particularly great in any particular aspect of the game (well maybe his crossing can be considered world class at times), he's just tremendously effective at his job and overall is a very complete full-back.
