Would be a minor miracle if Osvaldo gets through the season without some incident happening.

wtf is Porto doing? how was the #10 shirt free for Osvaldo to take? surprising number of players with zero/negative resale value for them this season ...

It's a season-long contract, if it works out cool if not he fucks off. It's not like we spent money on a transfer fee...anyway we'll see how good or bad this move was by (hopefully) the end of the season. I can actually see him going on a goal-spree here.

About the resale values...we spent money on Imbula, Danilo Pereira, André André and Sérgio Oliveira who are definitly resellable players.
Every other player we brought in came on a free transfer (Iker, Bueno, Maxi, Osvaldo), return from loan (Varela), loan (Cissokho) or promoted from the B team (Lichnovsky and André Silva).

So I think it's safe to say we still know wtf we're doing.

Yeah but the article itself states nothing new, if he said he actually thought AVB was superb, then it would be something, but to state facts followed by the general consensus about AVB is a waste of writing.

IMO his biggest mistake was leaving Porto after one season to join Chelsea, for several reasons, like the fact that he had only been managing at the top level for one year (no matter how amazing that year was, and it was), and because, of all the clubs, he joined Chelsea, where the Mou brigade was still heavy and the expectations for him to be the next Mou were greatly increased. If he had settled in Porto for one or two more seasons, with CL experience and whatnot, he could have been much better than he is now. He can still make it, perhaps, although he's stated that he doesn't want to be a manager for very long. Ironically, the only club which was willing to give him "more time", was the club he himself decided to leave after one season.

It gets views, so it is probably less of a waste than anything written on this site. You're just butthurt.

His mistake was his tactics and managerial ineptitude.

What? What does one thing have to do with the other and why would I care if it's a waste or not? I just mean that the guy merely states well known facts and then shares the common opinion about AVB, so the article adds nothing new or curious or interesting in itself. By these standards a simple post in the Confirmed Transfers thread is less of a waste. By the "gets views" standard, Justin Bieber taking a dump is probably one of the top most interesting things in the world.

Anyway of course his tactics have something to do with it but not all imo, as I said in the other post.

I'm stating a fact. I was a massive supporter of his appointment and right now I rate him somewhere between Rafa and Avram.

Cissokho came in to prevent an eventual departure from Alex Sandro which ended up happening, but apparently Julen doesn't trust him much.
Layún will help us cover the fullback department given his versatility, but I don't see him getting minutes in midfield because we are very well served there.
It's a season-long loan with option to buy for €6M...decent move I'd say, he might have a good spell here.

Layun is a really good utility player with a high motor and decent speed... just don't ask him to cross or strictly sit back and defend. Also, he tends to go on really bad spells that seem to mess with his psyche and makes him take terrible decisions. Other than that he's good. He also has an EU passport which I imagine is a plus.

Layun can't cross for shit with his left. Now if Porto uses him at RWB (his natural position) then you got yourselves a solid starter for the season. Like Skip said, he's a good utility player who can play a number of roles in the midfield but I guess that won't be asked of him the way Sanchez Flores had him playing in his last game at Watford. He was subbed in to play right attacking mid. He's got a good long distance shot too.

Jesus Corona is something special. I'm stoked at seeing him and the rest of the Mexicans at Porto, but with a special emphasis on Tecatito.

Tecatito with the brace on his debut (H)

I'm replacing "Jesus fucking Christ" with "Jesus fucking Corona" in my posts from now on.
