FC Luch-Energiya Vladivostok Succession Game

Haha, I usually save fairly often without autosave anyway. Often use autosave now though, because I've done that before :D

damn I hate this.. I should go to bed but I'm stuck reading with this addictive thread..

I know this is an old post and I'm not into FM series lately but this reminds me of something.. back in years 1999-2001, while I was playing the game like hell I was especially refraining from saving my game cos for some weird reason my team starts to perform badly after saving and/or loading.. sometimes defeats get more casual, sometimes draws.. I thought it was a some kind of balance factor SI secretly sneaked into the game..

seriously; three things FM reminds me.. my great deportivo campaign back in 2001, the M7.4 earthquake happened back in 1999 while I was playing with RCD Lens.. and that weird save game effect that almost made me obsessive compulsive..

I was an absolute criminal "reload after losses" guy in 99-01. I don't think saves made your team perform that bad. Luch thread is a good read and interesting, but if you haven't read Chelmsford, it is much better. It's also a lot longer because we played 20 seasons.

Maybe we could make a sticky with links and highlights of all the great FM stories on this forum. Might inspire a few of our members to create their own stories with FM13.

This DID make me realize that the key to a good SG Succession Game is the sugar daddy. No one (including myself, sadly) wants to be handcuffed and play by the rules. It's a lot more fun to make it rain.

no kidding, I absolutely love the idea of having a sugar daddy in game..

another challenge maybe; you get a club in a serious debt in lower leagues, and this time using fm genie you hunt for high PA and sell them to raise money and create a wealthy and successful club with a major european trophy..

but sugar daddy is better in my opinion..

A challenge is great, but it's not always fun, and Succession Games should always be fun. I never got into this one, honestly, but Chelmsford was awesome.

Luch was pretty fun, but the problem is that even as high as we took Luch, there's still going to be problems attracting players from Europe. The domestic player rules sucked too. I think England is the way to go, but maybe we could start even lower in the pyramid. I know they make downloads for it. Maybe we could take over Daz or Ebonix's pub league side or something, that would be pretty cool. Then again, how much good will our bags of cash do if we aren't professional. Hmm...

I wouldn't mind starting out in the Conference South or North again. I found the first couple of Chelmsford seasons to be the least memorable anyway, perhaps because there's hardly an established and recognizable team at the start. Tons of players come and go.

Last time we played in the south of England, we could now play in the north. There's Bradford Park Avenue (manage like a sir), or the Vauxhall Motors team, or Colwyn Bay in Wales. It all sounds pretty fun.

If there's a succession game like that I'll buy FM 13. Other wise, I'm not really interested in the game. At least yet anyway.

I'm not that interested in buying the game either, actually. More than a Succession Game, if Shifty does a Draft Challenge file we can play, it might push me to get it.

I'll buy the game and I wont touch it, just like the last five years..

I've been playing this game since 1993 and the game was not sold in my country until 2006 I guess.. so, I had to get the game illegally back then.. now I'm earning my own money, and I feel I owe SI.. so I buy the game, and not even unbox it.. partly because I do not have enough time and energy, and partly because I feel the game has gone a different way after introducing 2d view, which I dont like..

I know it might sound stupid but I cant help myself..

I have tons of time to do it. Do you guys have any suggestions of how to do this within the confines of the editor?

I say pretty much like Chelmsford. Foreground sugar daddy, not sure whether you messed with starting finances. I don't think we should adjust facilities and instead build those up in the game. Maybe it would be very fun to max out youth recruitment, it'd be a cool addition to keep track of that every year (and imagine the fights we could have over these home grown talents and their role in the first team).

Well you'd have to edit the teams to become the draft teams like intended. Then you upload the editor save file and let people download and play within that league. I suggest editing the German league because it has no foreigner rules, or creating one from scratch but I haven't experimented with that.

From scratch migt be easier. Create nrw clubs, change pmayers, remove loans and injuries and maybe add staff and correct formations and maybe bump reputation contracts and finances and whatever you can tbink of to stop players leaving the draft teams. Badically.

Phone. Super rich owners and massive club reputations should fix a lot of players leaving. Also clubs not having money at the start (which was probably your big mistake, Az); you gotta untick that box.

I'm not sure it was necessarily the Sugar Daddy thing that put people off here, I also think it was the foreign rules. They meant much much less freedom.

Sugar Daddy ended up ruining Chelmsford game for me. It meant there was much less continuity, and so many managers came in and just bought guys that we didn't need, for the sake of buying. There was little development, and all the young potential superstars never developed and ended up getting sold for nothing, before we spent a fortune on guys who were no better in ability - just already developed.

It frustrated the hell out of me. I actually saw it as a bit greedy on the part of each season's manager - considering it was a "shared" save.
