Are you ******* kidding me? What's the worst player you've had to put on the field this season?bybuti;2872128 said:haha
We both stole Pep's future line-up. :P
That's an option btw, coz I don't think we'll keep playing that way the whole season. We have Pedro, Iniesta, and Bojan that we'll be using in the wings (which means one of the 2 strikers, Villa or Zlatan will be rotated), then, Messi can rest a bit more, etc, etc.
Villa and Cesc give us so many opportunities to try new formations/rotate. This year we have had a short squad and we have done pretty well. Next year, if (long) injuries won't affect our team, than we gonna see another extraordinary season.
Now, com'on Jan, bring Cesc back.
Dude, I've never criticized you for "choosing" to be a fan of Barcelona; if you don't have a personal connection to a team, it's natural to choose an elite team, and you've chosen a very respectable team and seem to have done your homework; but if you're going to "choose" Barcelona, you have to at least acknowledge that your team is stacked.bybuti;2872820 said:No. I was very serious. We have had a short squad.
We have had only 21 players (not counting Cantera). And out of 21, only 12-13 players were either quality players or players in form, naming: Valdes, Pinto, Alves, Puyol, Pique, Abidal, Milito, Maxwell, Xavi, Iniesta, Yaya, Busquets, Keita, Pedro, Messi, Ibra, Bojan.
Don't count Marquez, Henry, Jeffren, and Chygrynskiy at all.
Then, out of those 17 players, Millito (has just came from a serious injury), Abidal (has missed many games because of injures), Iniesta (same, has missed many games), Yaya (out of form, also missed a part of season because of ACN), Keita (missed a month because of ACN), Ibra (was his first season and even though he has good stats, his game wasn't adorable), Bojan (only played in the last part of the season).
So, we have only 10 players (counting a second keeper as Pinto as well) who contributed the most during the whole season.
Valdes, Alves, Puyol, Pique, Maxwell (?), Xavi, Busquets, Keita (?), Pedro, Messi.
Remember the game in Calderon, when we had to start with Jeffren and end up with Bartra in the right wing for instance.
Look at our midfield for instance: Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Yaya, Keita. Only 5 midfielders with Iniesta being injured for the majority of time, Yaya and Keita out for the ACN, and other problems ...
You can't call a team with 20 players (almost half of them missed a huge part of the season) a complete team.
Compared to who?Filipower;2872843 said:I'll have to disagree there, if you go one by one Barça didn't have the best squad on paper coming up to the start of the season...
Because you sound like a dick when you complain about your squad being short when it's miles ahead of most everybody. Imagine somebody who chose to be a Real Madrid fan and complained that they didn't have enough money to spend. That's how you sound right now.bybuti;2872996 said:First, what's the point with which team I cheer for?
Again, all I can feel is .bybuti;2872996 said:Injuries happen to every team, but when you have a short squad, they affect you more than others.
I didn't say all of your backups are world class. If that is your standard for having a full squad, then you are delusional. I said that you never had a bad player on the pitch, except that one canterano you had to play for like 30 minutes. Every player that you used this season would be a hands-down starter on any La Liga team except possibly Madrid.bybuti;2873069 said:I mentioned you some cases when we had problems with the short squad but it seems that you haven't read them.
When, Yaya and Keita were in the ACN, we had only 3 midfielders left, Busquets, Iniesta, Xavi. Now I'm not sure if Iniesta for instance was injured during that time (coz he has been for the majority of the season), but again, playing a month with only 3 midfielders. "Oh this is Barcelona, we have Jonathan Dos Santos and Thiago ..."
Then in the attack, a Henry and a Zlatan out of form (or injured), we were left with Messi, Pedro, and Bojan (you call this a world-class attack??). You call a defensive line with Chygrinskiy and Maxwell a world-class defense??
And my point is that you clearly did just fine.bybuti;2873287 said:Mate, I know we have great players. But to play 60 games in a season and to succeed, you need to have more than 20 players. That's my whole point.
Xavi - Iniesta - Busquets are great, but it was only three of them left during January. They need to rest, they can't play a game every 3 days.
