when playing the career mode alternative of the game, having faces for all these prospects adds tons to the realism, so much so i would honestly even be willing to pay to have a number of players i intend on using this year done.

There are a lot of players without scanned faces. I think coming up with mods is one thing, but someone should really make an effort to convince EA to come up with DLCs for the game. And they need not make trips down to each individual club stadium to scan player faces, if you guys can do it, I'm sure the graphics department at EA can make 3D models out of pictures too. It's a matter of whether or not they want to do it. Probably a fee for monthly DLCs or DLCs according to Leagues or even teams might be sufficient. I would pay for all of them and then never buy another FIFA game, but that's just me.

ea doesn't care enough to do it, and they also need to have something ''new'' to add each year, which is why currently they are working through one league at a time, they started last year with bpl, this year was most likely going to be bundesliga until they felt the need to instead include the womens national team and as a result the alloted budget for ea's fifa team to use on this particular subject went into getting all the ladies scanned instead.

so next year we probably see a full scan of the bundesliga, year after that probably laliga and then it'll be either ligue 1 or seria a.

only thing that would change these alloted budget specs would be if say konami manages to start snagging market shares from ea, in which case they'd be force to make structural changes, but as things stand they have more or less a monopoly position of the football gaming market and as such they can do as they please.


and as for the ''photo'' thing, here i'll give you 10 examples of players that ea's own department have made using photos, and you can then look them up and judge how qualified they are as ''artists''

paul pogba (hasn't even had his hair updated for three years)

karim benzema (the version before fifa 16)

in terms of quality they are all over the place, but none of the 10 examples comes even close to compare to what the hobbyists of this forum have been able to produce in their spare time.
