I was playing with Betis on FM06 and decided to buy some new players. I bought Russian striker Andrey Arshavin and Romanian defender Mirel Radoi. As I only had one Non-EU player in my team, I didn't really care that these two were also from non-EU countries. But to my surprise, after I bought them, they didn't have the "Fgn" tag left to their name. They haven't got other nationalities either.

Romanian and Russian players have had that before, right? Is this something new to FM06, or was it new in the 6.0.3 patch?

Does anyone have a list over which countries are in EU and that other organization (which I don't know what is called in English) Norway and some other countries are in, which let's you have some of the goods EU countries have. It's called EØS in Norwegian.

I think that every nation in Europe goes under EU in FM. So even if you buy a player from a nation that is not a member of the European Union, he will not go as a foreign. That's what I think.

No, not true. Romania will join the EU in 2007 and some rules like this one already cover them, and Russia has a treaty with the EU to give their inhabitants the same employment rights as EU-nationals.

Nope.

Turkey and Switzerland are non-EU in the game.

Ok, but Bulgaria will also join EU in 2007, right? But like Romania, they will have to sort some political things out first (if they don't, the EU will delay the whole thing to 2008). And players from Bulgaria are Fgn in FM.

I wish every European country was considered EU. Imagine you could've got Maxim without any WP problems.

Oh and Bulgaria won't join in 2007, it's not even safe to travel to that country left alone the civilised (*ahum*) western European culture that all the EU country's should have.

Ok, but Bulgaria and Romania are in the same situation at the moment? None of them are in, but they have the same terms and conditions?

yeah...just noticed that my Bojinov is another foreigner in my squad...luckily i managed to offload him (loan) to the other club.
