I just got this game, and i love it!

what i like about this game

- field phyasics!
- guod sound effects
- good graohics
- names on jerseys
- good celebrations
- goals do not come so easy as in FIFA 2001

What really sucks is the Crowd though, seems as if no one has yet to perfect the crowd in a pc soccer game

Alenichev ..
You are more than welcome to those screenshots, mate that is nothing compared to all the work that you and others have done for us all on the Fifa scene, now then, so far i have only been messing around with the game and taking a look at what is in there ..

Good.
1:> Player models are very good
2:> Player physics and actions are a pleasant change, i actually lifted a player off the turf with a bad tackle.'sent off' and the players actually wave and gesture for the ball in freekick situations, players walk over to an injured player and help him to get back on his feet.
3:> The weather effects are very good, the heavy fog and rain night matches are very good to play, in fact they look a tad spooky, also heavy rain looks like heavy rain with the water splashing up off the pitch. Players footmarks in the snow and heavy conditions.
4:> The stadiums are nice along with the excellent ambient lighting effects during the night matches, and the live tv screen is brilliant.
5:> The ball movement and passing are very relaxed and you can just cruise along through the game, well in easy mode that is.
6:> A new 'one two' passing option has been introduced and it is a welcome addition to any football game, and once that you have worked it out you can play some good football.
7:> Power shooting via pressure on the control buttons, a thro' ball passing option is in there, and it works a treat too.
8:> Don't be confused by thinking that this is another Fifa 2001,it isn't, it is a different game engine and design from another company, so there will be some heated comparisons tossed around when players actually play and see this game..
9:> Freekicks and distance goals, mm, i havn't really tested them out yet..
...............
Niggles
1:> Cardboard spectators in the stands 'who cares'..
2:> A small transition screen appears when there is a foul or corner/free kick called, it was perhaps placed in there to give it a tv replay effect.
3:> There doesn't seem to be a speed option, so it looks like it could auto adjust to different playing modes.
4:> There are probably a few more in there that i havn't found yet, but so far the game looks and plays ok and is a welcome change from previous releases .. Ned

This is the only site that i could find in regard to the release date for the game, but so far i couldn't find any demo of the game,..Mate, you don't have to feel bad about Bradford slipping down the pecking order, we were knackered from the start of this season, and the harsh reality was that we had far too many old legs in the team, good honest players but not up to the demands of the Premier League, we were in the lower divisions for years and the short stay in the Premier League was a very nice change for us, so maybe next season we can re build and see how it all goes from there ...Aye and lets now hope that the Yorkshire Whites can pull of the big prize of the year .. good luck to all you leeds fans, you all must be jumping out of your skins at the moment .. Ned

About spectators... attendances change with game? For instance, season games versus lowly teams have less crowd than derbies?

and obviously a VIQ... Are add-ons possible? what are the file formats?

E

Edward_ Black

I will check out to see if there is any variations in the attendances later today..
File formats
1:> Textures are *.raw
2:> Pitches are *.raw
3:> Objects, IE: stadiums are *.mdz
4:> Pitches\sky etc are *.dpc
so as you can see, it has been coded differently from the EA games.
5:> In the audio directory, the files are in *.wav format.
6:> Script files are *.sds
6:> Add ons. all i can make out at the moment is that you can rename players and team names and make up your own league, but with only the default kits .. I will take a closer look at that option shortly .. Ned

help? try these sites, there could be a lead to a demo from them..

I watched this game at a pc store yesterday but I doubt whether it was another version of European Super League. Have you all played the European Super League. I don't like it frankly even though it has the license teams (16 teams overall) but there are no commentary.

I'm sure from screens that was sent by Edward_Black this game (UEFA Challenge) is a different one. I hope it better than any other footie games on the store and hope better than FIFA 2001. So far I have yet to get a better game than FIFA series even though ISS Pro 2 for PS2 is on the market. I don't have PS2 and have to depend on my pc (PII 333, Voodoo2, 64MB ram plus 10.5GB HDD). I hope UEFA Challenge can reach my system very well because some new games especially FI racing do not match my system. (My system not up to their standard).

Edward_Black, do you think the new game will be good with my current system? Or anybody else, SCTW?

125 international teams? Is Malaysia in there?

How about the commentary? Is that for only the license teams? Players commentary? Beckham, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Figo etc?

I did not see any international teams ( i only played a few games)

Yes this game is much better and much more realistic than FIFA 2001, yet my favorite PC Soccer game is still FA Premier League 2001

If they are RAW files, I think it's possible to open them with PSP... But a RAW file can either be text data, sound or image... Let's hope for the best. So far, the game seems to be perfect enough.

The page isn't of any help... I subscrived their newsletter... and nothing :p

OK, let us clearit out for once... Super League Soccer is a game by Virgin, a kinda sequel to VIVA Football. IMHO the game is verrrrrrry dated... there is one ad of it on the back of my VIVA Football CD, while UEFA Challenge was developed by Infogrames.

Anyway, it is certain on my bag this month, no doubt.

Thanks Alenitchev,

It's clear that European Super League Soccer by Virgin while UEFA Challenge by Infogrames. One thing that I like from ESL is the name on the back of the players shirts and the actual look of the stadiums.

I hope UEFA Challenge have national teams too and have the capability to be edited like FIFA series.
